The Message Badge Club is officially on TikTok! 🥳🎉

We’ve created an account to showcase the amazing videos our young people make and give you a glimpse into everything they get up to throughout the year—from volunteering and community projects to making new friends and creating lasting memories💙

In the short time the MBC has been running, we’ve already helped connect young people, build friendships, and create a safe, welcoming community. We’re incredibly proud of every young person who has stepped outside their comfort zone, connected with other Pride groups, and continued to stand up for the rights of others 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

This post is also a huge thank you to all of the young people who have generously given their time, energy, and passion to help build the club into what it is today. Your commitment has made such a difference, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve achieved 💙

We are really excited to reveal this year that we have a new exciting kids zone.
Messy Badge Clubb & Scouts have been hard at work creating a fun, interactive and free space. There are games, crafts, soft throwing games, raffles and so much more. You will have to come and see for yourself!

Happy London Pride, everyone! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Today, two of our amazing young members had the incredible honour of walking in the London Pride Parade, representing Newbury Pride Youth. We couldn’t be prouder of them! 💙

It was such a fantastic day, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to Newbury Pride for their continued support of LGBTQIA+ young people and for creating opportunities like this. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Now the countdown is on… 🎉

Next Saturday, 11th July, it’s Newbury Pride! 🌈

The Messy Badge Club team has been busy getting everything ready, and we can’t wait to meet you all and show you what we’ve been working on 🫟 🌈✝️

Newbury Pride is a free, family-friendly event with something for everyone, including:

What an incredible day we’ve had at Thatcham Family Funday! 🎉💙

It was so lovely to meet so many new faces, chat with you all, and share what The Messy Badge Club is all about. Seeing so much excitement for our new club has made today really special. 🌈

A huge thank you to all of the amazing young people who gave up their time to help us today. The Messy Badge Club has been shaped by their ideas, enthusiasm and creativity from the very beginning, and it simply wouldn’t exist without them. We’re so proud of everything they’ve helped to create. 💙

We’d also like to say a heartfelt thank you to Newbury Pride and Thatcham Methodist Church for believing in our vision and supporting not only our club, but our whole community. Together we’re creating a welcoming, inclusive space where every young person can be themselves. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✝️

Time for the big reveal… Ta-da! 🎉

Isn’t it amazing? 🥰

We had so much fun getting creative together, thinking of different ways to show what matters most to us – love, kindness, hope and inclusion 💙🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✝️

A rainbow is a powerful symbol for so many people. It represents hope, new beginnings, and the promise that brighter days can follow even the hardest times🌈 🌈 🌈

Our young people at The Messy Badge Club worked incredibly hard to fill their letter with meaningful messages, and we’re so proud of everything they created 💙

And we can’t forget the beautiful Pride flag they helped Newbury Pride paint too! 🏳️‍🌈 It was wonderful to see them getting involved and making their mark on such a special community project.

A huge well done to our amazing girls – you’ve created something truly special 💙

It might seem like an unusual combination, but it works because we share the same belief: everyone deserves to be welcomed, valued and treated with kindness and respect 🌈

Do you have to be LGBTQIA+ to join? 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
Nope! Most of our team are allies who simply believe everyone deserves to be accepted for who they are

Is it a religious group? ✝️
No. We’re not a faith group, but we’re proud to work alongside and be part of the wonderful community at Thatcham Methodist Church. We respect people of all faiths, beliefs and backgrounds

By working together, we’re in a unique position to offer a fun, welcoming badge club where young people can make friends, build confidence, try new things and know there’s always someone in their corner 💙

💙 We are 100% volunteer led 💙

Every single person involved with Messy Badge Club gives their time because they care about young people and want to make a positive difference in our community 🏡

Our team includes parents, family members, friends and local people from all walks of life, all working together to create a welcoming, judgement-free space where young people can be themselves, have fun and grow in confidence ☺️

All of our adult volunteers are Enhanced DBS checked and receive safeguarding training, so families can feel confident that the wellbeing of our young people is always our priority 🪜

We also believe that our volunteers’ wellbeing matters just as much. Supporting young people starts with supporting the people who give their time, so we aim to create a kind, understanding and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected and supported 💙

We’re always looking for more people—young and old—to join our amazing team. Everyone has something valuable to offer, and together we can help make our town an even better place for young people, now and in the future 🌈
