70 years of the 1st Tewkesbury Company this year, and we couldn't have achieved all that we have without our fantastic volunteer staff. From DofE and hike competitions, games & competitions, fundraising and community support, marching band to camps, holidays and international trips - you make it all possible. Thank YOU!

Today marks the start of Volunteers' Week and we want to say a huge thank you to our 6,500+ volunteer leaders for all they do! 🙌

In communities across the country our children and young people are provided with opportunities to learn, grow and discover in a safe, fun and caring environment, which wouldn't be possible without the tireless dedication of our volunteers.

Keep an eye on our social media channels throughout this week as we'll be sharing stories from some of our volunteers of why they do what they do!

Another busy weekend, with our Juniors going on holiday down to Broadleas, on the edge of Dartmoor at Haytor - looks like they've got some great weather for it!
Elsewhere some of our Company Section parents and lads were up early to run a stall at the Car Boot Sale in Cheltenham, and raising money towards their international camp in Denmark in July. Thank you and well done on raising some more funds towards this fantastic trip! Next fundraiser for this trip is another one of our popular Car Wash & Brunch mornings at our HQ on Saturday 20th June.

The Captain doesn't appear in very many photographs on this page, and purposely so, as the focus is very much on what our young people are doing and achieving.
Occasionally though it is nice to share what he get's up to, and the support we receive for our work.
Today he finished his term as the President of the West of England & CI District Boys Brigade after 6 years, he has also recently stood down as a Trustee for Gloucestershire Battalion Boys Brigade after too many years to mention. On Monday he was at Mayor Making where the new Mayor, Councillor Emma Ash, announced 1st Tewkesbury Boys Brigade as one of her charities for the year ahead, and on Friday he was at Buckingham Palace celebrating with others the 70th Anniversary of the DofE Award.
Don't worry that he's going to be twiddling his thumbs anytime soon though, he is still a director and trustee of BB UK and as Captain of our Company, he's busy helping to organise our 70th Anniversary celebration events, along with a few other roles.
Thank you for all the support you continue to give him, it's very much appreciated.

It's been so busy recently that we haven't had time to catch up on posting photos of all the things we've been doing.
From lads on the BB Canoe Club training weekend in Chirk, to 20 of us at Woodhouse Park Activity Centre doing climbing, crate stacking, axe throwing and frisbee golf.
Never a dull moment when you're in Boys' Brigade in Tewkesbury!

Another great Tewkesbury BIG Weekend Carnival on Saturday with our band leading the parade and our David Attenborough Land, Sea & Sky entry featuring dolphins, birds, rainforest, clouds and lots of wildlife.
Thank you to all our members and their families for your support in putting our entry together, we really appreciated the help - can we book you again for next year please!

It's been a busy few weeks for our members as they've undertaken a range of community work, helping to support the town and some of the other voluntary organisations in it.
From litter picking in Newtown, town centre and the riverside, to sanding down and painting one of the boats used by Tewkesbury in Bloom, over 60 of our members have been involved. We'll be out again this weekend supporting the BIG Weekend Carnival with our drummers and our carnival entry.
Young people doing good things for others with their time - an important part of our ethos in 1st Tewkesbury Boys' Brigade.

We had a great weekend of fundraising for the start of our BB Week 2026, with a non stop Car Wash session at our HQ, even having to turn cars away at the end (apologies to those that we couldn't accommodate. Thank you all those that we did manage to clean, and all who bought cakes or bacon rolls.
Our Street Collection was again well supported by the people of Tewkesbury, and we would like to thank each and every one of you that contributed to the £700+ that was donated, your money will be put to very good use with our young people.

This Saturday the Yr7 and above members of Boys' Brigade are running a fundraising Car Wash at our HQ in Canterbury Leys, Newtown, Tewkesbury, and they would love your support as they look to raise money towards some fantastic activities and trips as part of our 70th Anniversary year.

It's the start of our annual fundraising BB Week this week and we're kicking off with our fabulous Car Wash & Coffee Morning at our HQ building in Canterbury Leys, Newtown, this Saturday from 10am - 2pm.
