A few photos from around the gardens, showing a couple of our beautiful roses 🌹, our new bench-side planters 🪴 and what's left of the lime tree 🪾 which was felled by the winds last week.
This remaining portion will continue to provide a habitat for all sorts of wildlife 🕷️🪲🐞🐛 which will be beneficial to the environment.
We had a stand at Saturday's This Is Tewkesbury event, which was packed with many interesting groups covering so many different activities. A chat with Tewkesbury Friends of the Earth about their 'Tewkesbury Gardening for Wildlife' award highlighted the many reasons why we should be considering wildlife and how we can best encourage more into our own gardens. Anyone in Tewkesbury with a garden can enter, so why not give it a go? 📷🖼️
Friends of Victoria Pleasure Gardens Tewkesbury might just take part too! It would be a chance to show just how seriously we take conservation and preservation of wildlife within the gardens, with woodpiles, planting for pollinators, no weedkiller etc.

Anyone out there who fancies joining our little team? We can promise you fresh air, exercise, teamwork (good for the CV!), fun, floods, drought, collapsed historical walls, missing urns, rescue operations, and dramatic trees!

There is never a dull moment for Friends of Victoria Pleasure Gardens Tewkesbury - we don't know what we'll find when we pop in to the gardens to do a little light pruning and this weekend was no exception! An exceptionally wet and windy spell for this time of year brought dramatic results for this tree 🪾 although it had the good manners to fall away from any pathways and not cause unnecessary obstruction!

The roses are rocking in Victoria Gardens 🌹

Colour is popping everywhere, Eric and Ernie, the urns ⚱️⚱️are spruced up for the summer season, and we have new bench-side planters adding summer brights around the gardens 🌺🏵️🌸🌼💮

Last year, we were generously supported by a number of sponsors, which helped fill these planters with their summer colours. We are hoping to repeat that sponsorship opportunity this year, and already have 4 of the 8 planters sponsored for the 2026 season.
It costs £50 per planter, and sponsors names will be featured at the entrances to the gardens.

The roses 🌹 are looking glorious in Victoria Gardens - now and for the next few weeks, do go and enjoy the sight and the fragrance - I can only post photos 🖼️ , no scratch and sniff button online as yet! 😆

We gave ourselves a good workout 🏋️‍♀️ this morning, moving two very large and established hostas from their rotting barrels into two lovely new ones 🪴courtesy of Hartlands Traditional Farmhouse Cider & Perry 🍻

If you're still paying for gym membership 🤔 how about a Sunday morning workout with us instead! It's free, in the fresh air, to the accompanying bells from Tewkesbury Abbey and you're achieving something useful at the same time! Plus you get to work with us 🙋🏼🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻🙋‍♀️

What a great day in Victoria Gardens!

Despite the best attempts of the weather gremlins, Picnic in the Park was a great success!

Fabulous entertainment 🎶 delicious food 🍰 and amazingly our best ever Big Plant Sale 🪴 all combined to ensure a great day all round!
