One of our members spent a wonderful day with making a replica knife. It's from the Museum of London book of knives and scabbards (knife no.63 on p.85), a mid 14th century find. The handle is yew, cut halfway between the heart and sap wood giving it the graded colour to the handle. Total length is circa 15cm and circa 11mm wide.

Cheesemaking at was probably our favourite thing about the event, which may have had something to do with the INCREDIBLE soft cheese a member made over the fire. It's surprisingly simple to do, and makes a gorgeous result.

Sir Corbett showed off his handmade game board at Living History Festival. Based on a manuscript image from the thirteenth-century Book of Alfonso, he used it to challenge members of the public to the fourteenth-century board game of Paumecary. Board made by the wonderful folks at The Historic Game Shop.

Amazing weekend at at . Thank you so much to the organisers! We were delighted to debut our brand-new four-poster bed made by . Lady Catriona finished the hangings last week. Our servants were impressed, but not so impressed when they had to sort out the pot hidden under the bed. Can't get the staff after the Black Death, eh?
