Great big thank you to everyone who came along to the orchard this morning. Got loads done today.

Also thank you Cakedelicious for keeping us going 🍰

As the fruit that’s on the trees is for the local

Look forward to seeing everyone at the orchard this morning, Friday, with gloves, and anything else useful you bring along, to help with a clear out!

The lovely Teversham Orchard is in need of a few pairs of hands to make sure it's OK for the winter.

If you have bit of time to spare on Friday 26 September and it's not a tropical storm, come along and give us a hand to clear up the area, between 10 and midday.

No need to be an expert gardener, just come along bring some gloves (there are nettles there), and if you have any gardening tools, like cutters, saw, rake etc that will help as well.

If you can come along leave a message here, just need to know the numbers.

Look forward to seeing you.

They are in the orchard on display and being put into permanent positions shortly.

* Teversham Community Orchard appeal *

Over the next couple of weeks volunteers are preparing the far end for wildflower seeding. If anyone has any orange plastic safety fencing we could borrow it would be hugely appreciated 🙏.

It would be for a few months to help the areas to establish.

Thank you in advance and if anyone would like to join as a volunteer please do get in touch 💚🌱😊

I love you volunteers have been working away at the back of the Orchard. We now have an area that will be planted out at the right time with some wildflowers, so would be really grateful if you didn’t walk on it or play on on it to give it a chance for some amazing plants later and next year.

Orchard looks amazing this morning. It’s bright and early the birds are singing away.

The grass is growing in the Orchard instead of being cut and the wildlife certainly like it .

Start spotting hoverflies in your local green space...

Adult hoverflies come in a range of shapes, sizes and colours. Many are black and yellow, resembling bees and wasps, but their colours can also include metallic greens and blacks. On sunny days you can usually spot them resting on open flowers or sunbathing on warm tree trunks.

Use our guide to help you ID the hoverflies you discover, and don't forget to pledge your support for these precious pollinators: https://www.wildaboutgardens.org.uk/

On the noticeboard at the Orchard there is a new poster asking dog walkers to remember to keep dogs on a lead.

Recently we have been made aware that some people do not want to visit the Orchard due to dogs being walked off lead. As this is a Community Orchard we want everyone to feel they can visit, and there is a notice at the entrance asking for dogs to be on a lead.

Please think of others and walk your dog on a lead under control and pick up after them.

With a change in the weather, the Orchard is starting to look pretty amazing. Blossoms out on the trees and you may be lucky enough to find some wild flowers..

You will see that the grass has grown longer than we had it last year. This is because we’re trying to encourage more of the native plants that are around there to come up.

When you walk round the Orchard, see how many plants that you can see and just drop a comment below that would be great and pictures if possible
