I visited the WW1 battlefields with Sean, who played part in helping Ellis achieve the only certificates he got from secondary education. Bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh. Lovely spending time together, honouring the brave and visiting a place Ellis was interested in.

This forthcoming weekend I will be competing in Ironman Wales Tenby in honour of Ellis.

The training has helped partly deal with the loss but also fill some of the void left. I no longer go to the care home he was in or the hospitals we visited frequently. We used to make these visits fun with a coffee and cake. I miss the people we became to know as friends.

I have done as much as I can in terms of training while juggling work and family life. I am going to enjoy the atmosphere and experience and hope I make the time checks. The day will be a celebration. I can’t wait.

The t-shirts were made to spread the message about how Ellis lived life and also to be worn by supporters on the course. I know the crowd will be epic but I will also be looking for a little boost from the t-shirts I see.
