For over 100 years 4th Tenby Guides have been a part of the community, and now, this Volunteer's Week, we are looking for new adult volunteers to help us continue with that tradition.
What does it mean to be a volunteer in Girlguiding?
Thereās a moment⦠and if you know, you know.
Itās not the big, shiny, ālook what we did!ā moment.
Itās the tiny one no one claps for.
Itās when a girl who wouldnāt speak⦠suddenly wonāt stop talking š¬
When āI canātā quietly turns into āwait⦠I just did it?!ā
When someone who stood on the edge⦠runs straight in, laughing šØāØ
And in the background?
A leader.
Covered in glitter (obviously).
Holding 17 things that arenāt theirs.
Running 3 conversations, 2 games, and a mild crisis about a missing sock⦠all at once š§¦
Theyāll laugh until they cry with the girlsā¦
Then sometimes cry a little on the drive home too ā because they felt it.
Because they saw it.
Because they know something just changed for that girl, forever.
No one sees the WhatsApp planning at 10pm.
Or the āI hope I did that rightā moments.
Or the quiet worrying, the big caring, the showing up even when life is⦠life-ing.
But week after week, theyāre there.
Making space. Holding it. Filling it with chaos, kindness, and courage š
And somehow⦠in between the glue sticks, the giggles, and the āplease donāt eat thatā momentsā¦
they build something extraordinary.
Confidence.
Belonging.
Little sparks that turn into big futures.
If you think you could be someone who makes a difference to a girl's life, however small, please do get in touch or register your interest here: https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/
