For over 100 years 4th Tenby Guides have been a part of the community, and now, this Volunteer's Week, we are looking for new adult volunteers to help us continue with that tradition.
What does it mean to be a volunteer in Girlguiding?
There’s a moment… and if you know, you know.
It’s not the big, shiny, “look what we did!” moment.
It’s the tiny one no one claps for.
It’s when a girl who wouldn’t speak… suddenly won’t stop talking 💬
When “I can’t” quietly turns into “wait… I just did it?!”
When someone who stood on the edge… runs straight in, laughing 💨✨
And in the background?
A leader.
Covered in glitter (obviously).
Holding 17 things that aren’t theirs.
Running 3 conversations, 2 games, and a mild crisis about a missing sock… all at once 🧦
They’ll laugh until they cry with the girls…
Then sometimes cry a little on the drive home too — because they felt it.
Because they saw it.
Because they know something just changed for that girl, forever.
No one sees the WhatsApp planning at 10pm.
Or the “I hope I did that right” moments.
Or the quiet worrying, the big caring, the showing up even when life is… life-ing.
But week after week, they’re there.
Making space. Holding it. Filling it with chaos, kindness, and courage 💛
And somehow… in between the glue sticks, the giggles, and the “please don’t eat that” moments…
they build something extraordinary.
Confidence.
Belonging.
Little sparks that turn into big futures.
If you think you could be someone who makes a difference to a girl's life, however small, please do get in touch or register your interest here: https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/
