Hi my name is Zoe Young I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2009 but have worked in practice since 2005. Several years ago I completed a Certificate in Feline Friendly Nursing and can now be found on the International Cat Care website listed as a Feline Friendly Nurse. I have always had a passion for saving animals since I was a little girl and started rescuing and rehoming kittens 10 years ago w

hen I started working in Vet Practice. Over the years I have worked with hundreds of cats both domestic and feral. Rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming those without homes and capturing feral colonies and organising for them to be neutered and released again as appropriate to keep the feline population under control. Anyone who knows me will tell you I have a real passion for the Feline species. Many describe me as the crazy cat lady!! Or perhaps just crazy as on many occasions I have taken other animals home including stray ferrets, chinchillas and orphaned baby birds! My aim now that I have built my luxury chalet is to become a non profit organisation or charity to enable me to organise official fundraising events to help with the expenses of looking after the animals that come into my care. We had a big night of arrivals — tiny babies needing hand‑rearing, others arriving safely with their mum, and a whole lot of settling, sorting, and soothing in between. It’s funny how Sundays can look completely different depending on where you are and what you’re doing. For some people it’s a slow start, for others it’s family time, and for us… well, every Sunday in rescue seems to come with its own brand of organised chaos.

There’s something grounding about it though. No matter how unpredictable the night is, the routine of warming bottles, checking weights, and making sure every little one is safe brings everything back into focus.

Today’s arrivals — and some brilliant news!
