Last weekend we had a fantastic couple of days at Home Farm Attingham! 🐖🐓🌾

We welcomed 183 Rainbows from 20 units across Shropshire, and they were all an absolute credit to Girlguiding. Their behaviour was brilliant – lots of listening, kindness and smiles all round.

From feeding animals to getting stuck into crafts and forest school fun, the girls threw themselves into every moment.

A truly lovely event with so many happy faces ❤️🩵

Congratulations to 2nd Market Drayton Brownie Unit. They have just celebrated 75 years; the unit having opened on 3rd April 1951 by Miss Edna Evans who became Tawny Owl, she was joined by Miss Betty Edwards who married and became Mrs Betty Silvester. Her warrant ended in 1986, when Mrs Shelia Vernon became Brown Owl. Mrs Shelia Vernon ran the unit alongside Mrs Anne Astley (Tawny Owl) for 25 years before retiring from Guiding in 2010. At this time, Louise Bonner took over as Brown Owl alongside Lucy Monger, who married and became Bussue, as Tawny Owl. They are still running the unit today.

16th Shrewsbury Brownies enjoyed a fantastic “Once upon a time” themed pack holiday at Copeland Cottage Camp and Activities Centre last weekend.
The girls threw themselves into a wide range of activities including a glow stick hunt, a campfire, grass sledging, a blindfold trail and exploring the adventure playground.

They also got creative, the Brownies made mirrors, snow globes, bookmarks and cupcakes, as well as baking biscuits. Highlights included a Very Hungry Caterpillar tea party and a cosy Toy Story movie night.

The fun continued with a special Easter celebration, including treats for breakfast and an exciting Easter egg hunt where the girls solved clues to find their chocolate prizes.

The girls were amazing throughout – exceptionally well behaved, helpful and full of teamwork – and even took Storm Dave in their stride! 💛

What a fantastic day at our annual County Day here in Girlguiding Shropshire! 💙

We were delighted to celebrate some truly inspiring volunteers who go above and beyond for guiding in our county.

A huge congratulations to Ellen, who was presented with the County Commissioner Award in recognition of her outstanding service to Girlguiding Shropshire. Your dedication and impact are truly appreciated!

We also had the pleasure of presenting Sarah and Victoria with the Girlguiding Good Service Award. Thank you both for your continued commitment and the difference you make to guiding every day.

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to Marion for everything she does for the county — your support and dedication do not go unnoticed! 💐

Days like today remind us just how special our community is — thank you to everyone who makes Girlguiding Shropshire such an amazing place to be. ✨

Spent a lovely morning celebrating some amazing volunteers from Girlguiding Midland region. Awards for Shropshire were given to Jo Walker, Rebecca Harding and Ruth Walton. Very deserving for lots of reasons too numerous to mention. Well done ladies.

21st Shrewsbury Brownies recently enjoyed a fantastic and busy sleepover in Chirk. The girls headed out on an adventure walk to Chirk Aqueduct, the viaduct and the 1200ft tunnel, waving to trains and canal boats along the way.

Back at the bunkhouse the Brownies got creative making dream catchers, painting cauldrons and baking shortbread, before enjoying a cooked tea with Wicked-themed mocktails followed by ice cream sundaes and a film night.

After a big cooked breakfast the girls continued the fun with more crafts, decorating shortbread and the highlight of the weekend – a Wicked-themed treasure hunt.

The girls were amazing throughout – happy, helpful and full of teamwork.
