Due to the overwhelming success over the past 2 years, the friends of St James will again be opening the doors of our beautiful church for another 'Carols by Candlelight' evening.

Because the previous attendance was so high, we will again be offering 4pm and 6pm services to enable everyone to join us.

As before, there will also be a selection of free mulled w**e, hot drinks and mince pies.

The Friends would like to put out an appeal for anyything relate to the history of St James. Photos, videos, stories, history. Anything at all, as long as it relates to St James. We'd like to collate it all together and create a file that could live at St James for all to access.

The next volunteer morning will be on Saturday 3rd October, 9 -12. General tidying outside with lots of leaves to rake up. The main path needs a bit of a w**d. There's a Holly sapling on the back wall that needs removing and a couple of low hanging branches to cut back.

Cleaning inside, as always.

For any that weren't able to make the Heritage open weekend, please pop down and take a look around. The church will be open.

And we need to talk history.

Thank you to all that attended the Heritage open weekend. It was great to see so many people taking an interest in this wonderful site.

A huge thank you to The Brittania (Aqueduct) Local History Society for all the time and effort they have put in over the years holding these Heritage events. Sadly the Society has had to make the dificult decision to end, but The Friends Of St James are intending to continue supporting thee open weekend eah year.

A big thank you also to Brookside Community Centre for lending us some tables at the very last minute.

Thank you to our Borough Councillor and Telford's Mayor, Nathalie Page, for her attendance on the Sunday.

Thank you to Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council for the grant to produce new information posters and for supporting the Friends.

The Friends of St James, The Britannia (Aqueduct) History Society and Churches Conservation Trust will be opening the beautiful church for the Heritage Weekend.

Come along and see inside this beautiful historic church

12pm-4pm
Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September
Childrens activities from 230pm-4pm on Sunday followed by a harvest service 330pm-4pm

This event is free and everyone is welcome
