Funding Opportunities for Community Groups in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin!

The Community Foundation for Staffordshire and Shropshire has shared two funding opportunities that may be of interest to local charities, community groups and voluntary organisations.

1. Community Mental Health for Adults Fund – Round 05

Funding is available for groups supporting women experiencing menopause who are at risk of su***de.

Grants of up to £20,000 are available.

This fund aims to support groups helping people who are most at risk of isolation, including older people and those living in rural communities.

Dementia UK is offering free, confidential clinic appointments with a specialist dementia nurse, known as an Admiral Nurse – coming to your local branch soon at:
Nationwide TELFORD branch Thursday 05th & Thursday 19th November 2026.
You don’t need to be a Nationwide customer. Everyone is welcome.

💙 What a fantastic afternoon bringing people together to help shape future employment rights for unpaid carers to support a submission for the Make Work Pay national consultation.

🤝 A huge thank you to everyone who joined including unpaid carers, employers, professionals, and partners. Special thank you to table facilitators from PODS (Parents Opening Doors), Connect to Work and Telford and Wrekin All Age Carers Centre.

Thank you to our local MP, Shaun Davies MP for Telford for taking the time to listen, share experiences and contribute to such an important discussion.

💬 The conversation highlighted both the incredible contribution unpaid carers make every day and the realities of balancing caring responsibilities with employment. It was encouraging to hear honest, constructive discussions from different perspectives, all with a shared ambition of helping carers remain in work while ensuring any future changes are practical for employers.

📝 Over the coming weeks, we'll be bringing together everything we heard into an evidence-based submission to the Government consultation. Thank you to every unpaid carer, employer and professional who generously shared their time, experiences and expertise. Your voices will help shape our response.
