YOU AND HIS WORD
“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” - Psalms 107:20
Beloved,
God’s Word is not an ordinary word. It carries His truth, reveals His will, and brings hope, restoration, and deliverance to those who receive it in faith.
Psalm 107:20 reveals a powerful dimension of God’s intervention in human affairs: He sends His Word to heal and deliver. When humanity reaches the limits of its strength, God is still able to intervene through His Word.
However, the question is not only whether God has sent His Word, but also what relationship we have with the Word He has sent. What happens when His Word meets your heart? Do you receive it, believe it, and allow it to shape your life?
Your relationship with His Word must therefore be built on faith. When God speaks, you must learn to trust His character even when you cannot immediately see the outcome.
His Word can correct your direction, renew your mind, strengthen your inner man, and give you wisdom to navigate difficult seasons. As you meditate on His promises, you are reminded that your circumstances do not have the final authority over your life; God remains sovereign.
Yet, receiving His Word requires a heart that is ready to listen and respond. The Word that you hear must become the truth you believe and the instruction you obey.
James 1:22 calls us to be doers of the Word, not hearers only. It is through this growing relationship with God and His truth that our lives are progressively transformed.
Beloved, do not allow familiarity with Scripture to rob you of the wonder of God's Word. Approach it with reverence, hunger, and expectation. When you open your Bible, seek to know the God who speaks.
When you hear His Word preached, receive it with a teachable heart. When His Word exposes an area of disobedience, respond with humility. When His promises encourage you, stand firm in faith.
The God who sent His Word to heal and deliver in Psalm 107:20 remains faithful to His character. We must not treat His Word as a magical formula or assume that every situation will unfold exactly as we desire.
Rather, we trust His wisdom, receive His truth, seek His help, and remain confident in His power to sustain, restore, and deliver according to His will.
Today, examine your relationship with His Word. Is it merely something you hear, or has it become the foundation of your faith, the guide of your decisions, and the anchor of your hope? The Word God sends deserves a response from the heart that receives it. It's well!
