🏡 A fantastic team effort at Olde Hall Court!

Following concerns raised by residents and the Parish Council, colleagues from across Housing, Estates and Repairs came together on 7 October to help clear litter, remove waste and improve communal areas around Olde Hall Court.

Despite the rain, the team did an amazing job and received some wonderful feedback from residents, including one customer who phoned to personally thank everyone involved.

A huge thank you to all colleagues, Councillor John Brindle and PCSO Teresa Nicholls for supporting the day. The before and after photos show just how much can be achieved when we work together 👏

Through personal stories, photographs and memories, the exhibition shines a light on the people who helped shape our communities.

Whether you have a personal connection to these stories or simply want to learn more about an important part of our local history, you're warmly invited to visit before the exhibition closes this Friday.

🌿 A big thank you to our volunteers and supply chain partners PH Jones for helping tidy the communal gardens at Longleat Close in Minsterley.

Working alongside colleagues from Housing Plus Group, the team spent the day preparing the gardens for winter, creating a space residents can continue to enjoy.

Thank you to everyone for all their hard work, and to the scheme manager for keeping everyone going with tea and biscuits! ☕🍪

It's amazing what can be achieved when people come together to support their local community. 💚

📚 A bright new chapter for the children at Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge CofE Primary School!

Working with our partners and colleagues who volunteered their time, we helped transform the school’s library into a bright, welcoming space.

Mandy Dhaliwal, Headteacher at Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge CofE Primary School, said: “The transformation is fantastic. With freshly painted walls, new carpet and a bright, welcoming feel, the library has been given a completely new lease of life. The best response has been from the children themselves, who have already been telling us how excited they are to spend time in there, explore the books and enjoy choosing their next read.”

Chris Farmer, Branch Manager for Jewson Partnership Solutions, said: “It's great to see the material we provided put to such good use and for a great cause, giving pupils a fresh new space to learn. Social value is at the heart of what we do along with Housing Plus Group, helping make our communities a better place for everyone.”

Double success for Housing Plus Group at the Apprenticeship Awards! 🏆

Congratulations to Jake, Ryan and Madison, who were recognised at the 2026 Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards yesterday.

Apprentice Housing and Care Assistant Jake was crowned Telford & Wrekin Apprentice of the Year, having also reached the final of the Health and Social Care Apprentice of the Year category. Judges praised his dedication, compassion and commitment to supporting people with disabilities and complex needs, describing him as "an absolute star who brings positivity to every shift."

Advanced Craft Electrician Ryan took home the Mentor of the Year award in recognition of the outstanding support he provides to apprentices, helping them build confidence, develop their skills and reach their potential.

Clerk of Works Apprentice Madison was recognised as a finalist in the Rising Star Apprentice of the Year category, highlighting the progress she has made during her apprenticeship and the positive impact she is already making in her role.

Housing Plus Group was also shortlisted for Large Employer of the Year.

Congratulations to Jake, Ryan and Madison on their achievements, and to all our apprentices who make a positive difference for customers and communities every day. 👏🏆

🍀 Good luck to everyone attending the Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards tomorrow!

We're incredibly proud to have been shortlisted in four categories, recognising two of our apprentices, one of our mentors, and Housing Plus Group as an organisation.

Apprenticeships play a vital role in helping people develop new skills, grow their careers and reach their potential. In this video, you'll meet Lewis and Poppy whose journeys started with work experience and who are now thriving in their apprenticeship roles.
