Landau Education and Supported Employment

Landau Education and Supported Employment Helping to transform peoples lives through supported employment and training. Landau was formed and registered as a charity in 1995.

The board of Trustees is made up of service users who all remain acting board members. Landau has worked in partnership with statutory organisations to deliver European programmes. The majority of our funding is through Charities or Trusts who continue to recognise the value of the service impact on users. Highly trained staff provide the support to meet the needs of all service users which are mea

sured by service users through evaluation, observation and feedback. We are committed to our service users and you will:

Have support from caring and knowledgeable staff
Have person centred planning with full involvement
Be treated with respect at all times
Be given full equality of opportunity

OUR WORK

Landau is a supported employment and work related training organisation, providing one-to-one, individual support for people with learning disabilities. Landau is committed to ensure that every person with a learning disability has the opportunity to work and fulfil their potential. It is our aim to provide individuals with high quality, tailored support to enable them to overcome obstacles to fulfilling their potential in society. Our Principles of Service have evolved from consultation with our service users and staff, and embody the values of the organisation. OUR CULTURE

Landau operates an open culture which reflects the individual and person centred nature of the services we provide. The style of management and the systems and procedures we have developed enable us to deliver excellent services with roles and responsibilities defined to give clear accountability. Senior management are kept close to the point of service delivery, this has resulted in a flattened hierarchy of only two levels from front line support workers to the Charity Manager.

πŸ’œ Learning Disability Week 2026 πŸ’œ

This Learning Disability Week, we're celebrating the talents, achievements, and potential of people with learning disabilities while continuing to champion inclusion and opportunity for all.

At Landau, we see every day how the right support can help individuals build confidence, develop skills, gain independence, and achieve their goals. Learning Disability Week is a chance to raise awareness, challenge barriers, and create a more inclusive society where everyone can thrive.

We're also proud to support Michaela's fundraising challenge, raising money to provide opportunities, resources, and experiences for our SEND learners. Every contribution will help make a real difference to the lives of young people accessing our services.

πŸ“£ LOCAL BUSINESSES - Can You Help a Young Person Take Their Next Step?

We're looking to connect with local employers who may be able to offer employment opportunities to young people aged 16–24 who are currently not in employment, education or training.

Many of the young people we support are motivated and ready to work but need that first opportunity to gain experience, develop their skills and build their confidence.

Whether you have a part-time role, full-time vacancy, apprenticeship, traineeship or entry-level position available, we'd love to hear from you.

πŸ“© If your business could help, please send us a message or email [email protected].
Thank you for supporting young people in our community. πŸ’™

Happy Stoke-on-Trent Day! πŸŽ‰

Today we're celebrating Stoke-on-Trent and the communities that make it such a special place to live, learn and work.

For 25 years, Landau has been supporting people across Stoke-on-Trent to overcome barriers, build skills and achieve their goals. From our long-standing work in Newstead supporting adults facing barriers to learning, to the opening of our new education centre in Hanley last year, we're proud to be part of a city that invests in people and their potential.

Last year, we were proud to celebrate Stoke-on-Trent’s 100th anniversary with a tea party at our Newstead centre, bringing together staff and learners to mark this important milestone in the city’s history. It was a great opportunity to reflect on the community spirit that runs through Stoke-on-Trent.

As we mark Stoke-on-Trent Day, we’d love to hear what makes the city special to you. Whether it’s a favourite local spot, a cherished memory, a community event or the people who make a difference every day, share your stories and photos in the comments below.

Here’s to Stoke-on-Trent, its rich heritage, strong communities and bright future. πŸ’™

Case Study - A Positive New Chapter

Following a significant period away from employment due to injury and recovery, one of our IPS participants re-engaged with support earlier this year after feeling ready to begin considering a return to work.

At the point of re-engagement, they faced several barriers affecting confidence and outlook on employment, including anxiety about returning to the workplace, uncertainty around suitable roles, and difficulties with interview skills.

With tailored, person-centred support from our Employment Specialist Charlotte, regular sessions focused on confidence building, identifying suitable opportunities, and practical help with CV updates, job applications, and interview preparation.

Through employer engagement, an opportunity was identified. Following positive discussions and a workplace visit, it quickly became clear that the organisation offered a welcoming and supportive environment. The visit proved to be a turning point, and the participant was subsequently offered a role on the production line.

Now approaching two months in employment, they have settled exceptionally well into the role and continue to thrive within the team. Feedback from management has been positive, with praise for their attitude, work ethic, and contribution to the workplace.
During a recent workplace visit, Charlotte says it was fantastic to see how comfortable and confident they had become - engaging naturally with colleagues and clearly enjoying being part of the team.

Our client said: β€œCharlotte has done a wonderful job getting myself into employment and really supportive and I am really grateful.”
