At Home-Start, we know that mental health is just as important as physical health. Parents and families can face many challenges, and seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
This World Mental Health Day, we're encouraging everyone to take a moment to check in with themselves and those around them. A simple conversation can make a big difference.
If you're looking for support, Mental Health UK offers a range of free downloadable resources.

Together, we can help create a future where no one feels they must face their struggles alone.

πŸ’™ During Baby Loss Awareness Week, Home-Start remembers all the babies gone too soon and stands alongside the parents, families, and loved ones who carry that loss with them every day.
Grief has no timeline, and no one should have to face it alone. This week, we honour every precious life and help raise awareness of the support available to those affected.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we stand with everyone affected by breast cancer, from those living with a diagnosis to the families, friends and loved ones supporting them.
When someone experiences breast cancer, its impact can often be felt across the whole family. During these times, kindness, understanding and a strong support network can make a real difference.
By raising awareness, encouraging conversations and supporting one another, we can help ensure that nobody faces their journey alone. πŸ’—

This International Walk to School Month, let's celebrate the difference a simple walk can make.
Walking to school helps children build healthy habits, boosts wellbeing and confidence, creates valuable time for families to connect, and encourages a positive start to the day. It also reduces traffic around schools, cuts carbon emissions, improves air quality, and helps create safer, greener communities for everyone. πŸŒπŸ’š
These are values that reflect the heart of Home-Start: supporting parents, strengthening family relationships, and helping children get the best possible start in life.
When families thrive, communities thrive. And when we choose to walk where we can, we're taking small steps towards a healthier future for our children and a more sustainable future for our planet.

This month, we're helping raise awareness of ADHD and the many ways it can affect individuals and families.
Whether it's a child navigating school, a parent balancing everyday responsibilities, or an adult seeking understanding later in life, ADHD can bring both challenges and strengths. Greater awareness helps reduce stigma and encourages people to access the support they need.
Together, we can build communities where people feel understood, supported and celebrated for who they are.
