Happy Thinking Day.

Today Teignmouth Brownies and Guides had fun with lots of other members of Girlguiding at Teignbridge Division Thinking Day Event.

We made new friends, played games, potted sunflowers, made our own friendship knot and much more.

Together we celebrated 100 years of Thinking Day.

This excellent post made our leaders laugh and nod in agreement.

Here in Teignmouth our volunteers have lots of fun. What's stopping you joining our family?

Please consider registering to volunteer on Girlguiding’s website.

🤔 Thinking about volunteering with Girlguiding but something’s stopping you?
Let’s see if we can clear that up…

“I can’t tie knots.”
🪢 Good news: neither can most of us. That’s why tent pegs exist.

“I can’t sing.”
🎶 Perfect! You’ll blend right in when we’re all shouting campfire songs out of tune.

“I’m not outdoorsy.”
🌲 That’s fine — we’re not climbing Everest. (Unless you count climbing over sleeping bags at 2am as an expedition.)

“I don’t have kids.”
👩‍👧‍👦 You don’t need any. In fact, you get to hand them all back at the end of the meeting. Win-win.

“I don’t have the time.”
⏰ Volunteering is super flexible — whether it’s once a week, once a month, or once in a flamingo-shaped inflatable… every little helps.

“I don’t know how to run activities.”
🎨 Don’t worry, we’ve got plans, resources, and an inflatable flamingo 🦩 if all else fails.

💜 The truth? The only thing you really need is a sense of fun and a willingness to give it a go. We’ll help with the rest.

👉 So, what’s really stopping you? Come join us — you might just surprise yourself.

Whether it's on your camp blanket, t-shirt or jacket...earning badges is what we're all about in Girlguiding.

Our badges help us recall memories and celebrate our achievements.

We're excited to share with you that 72 badges have just launched!

Among the badges to choose from, our Rainbows (aged 4-7) can giggle their way towards the Laughter badge, Brownies (aged 7-11) can take action and earn their Animal Helper badge and Guides (aged 10-14) can use their passion for the environment ane earn their Clean Planet badge.

These badges have been designed by over 15,000 girls.

Here in Teignmouth we can't wait to see what badges our young members will start next.

We will be sharing more on the new badges with our units in September.

Register to join Girlguiding online, either register your child/ward or make a volunteer enquiry. Your enquiry will be picked up by our friendly local team.

We’ve got an important quest.

We’re looking for a volunteer to join our team at 1st Teignmouth Guides. We’re a strong team, but after Easter we’ll only be a team of 2! We really need to be 3 to make sure the Guides continue to have the same adventures they are used to.

Come and join our family. We’re a busy and active Guide Unit that needs someone like you to join the existing team, be hands on with the Guides and help local girls continue to have adventures, fun and long-lasting friendships.

You’ll receive the warmest of welcomes and we promise you’ll soon by looking forward to Tuesday evenings.

This volunteer role is working directly with the Guides (aged 10-14) on a Tuesday evening during term time from 6.45-8.45pm. All training, DBS and uniform are provided and you will be supported. There are lots of amazing opportunities if you want to get involved further.

Does this sound like you? If yes. Email Rosie at [email protected] or register at https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/

Let's see what our Rainbows (ages 4-7) have been up to.

Rainbows had great fun being "Marble Masters" for their skills builder activity. They worked as a team planning, creating and trying their marble run and were so pleased to make it work by the end of the evening. Great work Rainbows! 🌈

Retro fashion night was a highlight of this term's activities. The night was led by the Rangers who dressed up, practiced make up and by the end of the evening were dancing and singing to ABBA.

If you are 14-18 and in the Teignmouth area or know someone who is, our Rangers would love to welcome you.

Simply register online at girlguiding.org.uk/join-us
