John Glen MP for Salisbury, recently visited the Church of St Michael and All Angels in Teffont Evias to back a major £500,000 restoration appeal.
Led by volunteer group The Friends of Evias Church, the project covers around 60 work streams to repair the historic roof, tower, spire, and main ceiling. Launched on 30 May 2026, the appeal has already raised over £180,000, with extensive scoping surveys currently underway. During his visit, Mr Glen praised the community's progress, discussed grant options, and encouraged fundraising momentum.
Dating back to 1298, the church holds centuries of English history, including Civil War links and famous effigies of the Ley family. The community is working hard to preserve this local treasure for generations to come—and visitors are warmly invited to drop in and explore its story via a self-guided tour!
