Maxi's Mates now have our own Rescue Centre and it is at Carlin Howe Farm, Redcar Rd, Dunsdale, Cleveland TS14 6RG. This Charity is dedicated to helping other desperate dogs like Maxi WAS. These dogs have been mostly found as strays and are in need of a loving fore

ver home. They are at our new kennels. Maxi's Mates make sure the dogs in our care have plenty of good food, clean warm bedding , exercised daily, have stimulation, care and attention. We provide Vet care if needed. Also more importantly we raise awareness that these dogs are in existence and waiting for that forever home. Maxi's Mates will carry out a home check for all of our dogs before they can be adopted. We firmly believe ALL dogs should have the chance to find the right home for them, no matter how long that takes. We will not euthanise ANY dog unless it is suffering and advised by a Vet to do so or extremely aggressive and cannot be rehabilitated. Trustees & Admin are :
Jane Galliford : Secretary & Kennel Co Coordinator ,
Antonia Boyd : Chairperson
Lesley Jones: Treasurer

National Rescue Dog Day 🐾🍀

Here at our rescue, we currently have 49 dogs in our kennels. Each one unique, each one with their own personality, story, and needs. Some need a little extra patience and understanding, while all are simply waiting for someone to notice them.

For many of them, the kennels have sadly become the only home they know. But what they truly deserve is a real home. A warm bed. A loving family. A second chance.

Could you be the person to change a dog’s life forever? 🍀🐾🍀🐾

Rescue really is the best. Not only are you giving a dog a future, but they’ll give you unconditional love in return 🥰

Please consider adopting, sharing, or supporting rescue dogs . Your forever friend could be waiting for you right now. 🐾🐕🐕‍🦺🦮

Statement from Maxi’s Mates

Everybody will have seen the social media posts regarding a Dog Maxi’s Mates took back in from Skelton Mill.

Nobody ever thought Mally was being abused or neglected it was purely his living conditions.

As people already home checked know we don’t rehome dogs to outside Kennels they have to be in the home.

We do know that Mally gained weight with them and he was loved by them and all the staff at Skelton Mill.

Unfortunately, the issue of where he sleeps is still ongoing and we are talking with them to see if there is any solution.

We didn’t appreciate the post they shared first and that is why we had to defend ourselves

He realises he made a mistake. He was upset, but that was no excuse to try and destroy a charity.

We are only looking out for Mally’s welfare and I realise some people have dogs in outside Kennels. But his kennel when we visited and took a photo wasn’t any where near adequate .

We did give them time to improve the kennel he was in which was only supposed to be during the day and it wasn’t done so they willingly handed Mally back to us.

We really don’t want any hate directed at Skelton Mill the fact that they loved him was never in question

Gift Aid Declaration Request

If you currently donate to Maxis Mates, or have done so within the last four years, you can boost your donation at no extra cost by completing a Gift Aid declaration. Please see the links below under “How to Gift Aid your donation.”

Firstly, thank you so much for your donation(s) to Maxis Mates. Your support makes a real difference and helps us continue to find forever homes for the dogs in our care. We truly appreciate your kindness and generosity, which provides vital resources for our rescue work. With your help, we are able to offer each dog a second chance and the loving future they deserve.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities to claim an extra 25p for every £1.00 you donate, provided you are a UK taxpayer. This means a £10 donation could be worth £12.50 to Maxis Mates.

How does it work?

If you pay UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax, you can choose to Gift Aid your donation. We can then reclaim the tax you have already paid on that money from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).

Does it cost you anything?

No – there is no extra cost to you. The only requirement is that you have paid enough UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in the relevant tax year to cover the amount we reclaim on your behalf.

Have I paid enough tax to Gift Aid my donation?

Example:

• You donate £40.00

• Maxis Mates claims £10.00 in Gift Aid (25p for every £1.00)

To Gift Aid this donation, you must have paid at least £10.00 in UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in that tax year.

Rule of thumb:
Add up all your Gift Aided donations for the year and divide by four – that is the minimum amount of tax you need to have paid.

What happens if you haven’t paid enough tax?

If the total Gift Aid claimed by charities is more than the tax you have paid, HMRC may ask you to pay the difference.

How to Gift Aid your donation

If you have not already done so and would like us to claim Gift Aid on donations you have made in the last four years, and where applicable on future donations, please complete the relevant declaration using one of the links below, if for any reason the links do not work please copy and paste into your web browser:

• Multiple donations (more than one donation in the last four years):
https://forms.gle/5sn9WnCDuUxWk5W77

• Single donation (one donation made in the last four years):
https://forms.gle/cpKuDSH9pD4PfWv57

Your information will not be shared with any third parties other than HMRC, solely for the purpose of claiming Gift Aid.

If you would prefer to complete an offline form, please email [email protected] stating whether you require a Single or Multiple donation form, and one will be sent to you.

Forms are now at kennels in reception to complete and leave with us. Please ask staff to help

If you have any questions, or need to inform us of any changes (such as a change of name, address, or tax status), please contact us at [email protected]

Please note: A signature is not required when completing the declaration.

For further information about Gift Aid can be found on the GOV.UK website:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/charities-detailed-guidance-notes/chapter-3-gift-aid -36-gift-aid-declarations

Gift Aid enables us to make your contribution go even further, helping more dogs in need at no extra cost to you.

Thank you once again for your generosity and incredible support.

🍀DOG FOOD PLEA 🍀🦮🐕🐕‍🦺

We are running out of tinned dog food, first time since Christmas. Really low on Chappy 😞 and we use Butchers Grain free too.

Our dogs so love the meaty chunks to mix with the dry and they are hoping you can donate some to help us🍀.

We have also run short of treats. The dogs love them so much. We use anything natural or grain free , no rawhide but they also love jumbones and smackos.

If anyone would very kindly like to donate any we would be very grateful. 🍀🐶🍀🦮

We are as always so very appreciative to all of those that answer our plea time after time you are really helping us keep going. 🐶❤️

It’s Adopt A Greyhound Month🥳

Do you want a dog who is quiet, loving and gentle? A dog who takes long, peaceful naps on the sofa, gazes adoringly into your eyes, is always up for a pleasant walk or a run? If that describes you, there's a good chance you'll be happy adopting a Greyhound.

Despite their image as driven athletes, Greyhounds are couch potatoes. Retired racing Greyhounds make wonderful pets and require much less exercise than you might expect. Regular walks and two or three good runs in a safe area each week should keep your hound happy and healthy.

Weighing in between 60 and 85 pounds, Greyhounds have long legs and necks that make them seem larger than they are. Their short coats mean grooming needs are minimal just a little brush minimizing any shedding.

Renowned for their gentle temperaments, Greyhounds are wonderful family dogs. Greyhounds are usually good with other dogs and with children. As with any of the quick-reacting "sighthound" breeds, there could be problems with cats and small dogs, so be careful if you have other pets.

Please do not be put off by size they really are the perfect family dog for all whether experienced owners or first time owners.

Please consider a Greyhound to adopt. If you would like to meet any and have a passed home check we can invite you to kennels with an appointment .
