Bridgehead car park is starting to look amazing! Interesting to see that the planting is also part of research into climate-proofing our green spaces!

Join us for The People’s Emergency Briefing film screening and discussion

“I’ll be honest — I’m sceptical of climate doom-mongering…But this film is different”

That’s what one person said after seeing The People’s Emergency Briefing.

Join us to watch this eye-opening and energising film about the latest in the climate and nature crisis and its impact on our everyday life:
🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🏥 Health
💷 Cost of living

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.

This is not an evening designed to leave people feeling helpless.

It is a film screening, followed by tea, coffee and a proper local conversation about what is happening, what it means, and what we can do next.

Better Buses for Fife Open Campaign Meeting

Betterbusesfife are taking an exciting next step: bringing people together from across Fife for our first open activist meeting to help shape the campaign, build our organising team and plan the work ahead. We’d love to see you there!

📅 Thursday 28 May
🕖 7:00–8:30pm
💻 Zoom

This meeting is about turning shared frustration into collective action.

Together we’ll:
• Get to know others involved in the campaign
• Map where bus services are failing communities most
• Learn what powers exist to improve buses and bring services back under public control
• Hear lessons from the successful Better Buses for Strathclyde campaign
• Plan our first campaign actions and next steps

We’re delighted to be joined by:
• Susie Wood from Better Buses for Strathclyde
• Emily Donnelly from Friends of the Earth Scotland

The campaign is supported by Friends of the Earth Scotland and Fife Communities Climate Action Network and Fife Climate Hub - but its strength will come from local people getting involved and helping lead it.

If you want to help build a bus system that works for people and communities across Fife, join us on 28 May.

Do you want better buses? 🚌

Some Tayport residents are involved in getting the Better Buses for Fife campaign going - here's what you can do to get involved.

📢Demand Better Buses in Fife - join the campaign

You can take two actions now - to support national policy change and to get involved in a local campaign in Fife!

Across Fife, like the rest of Scotland, we are struggling with bus services that are infrequent, unsafe, inaccessible and wildly overpriced. Services are too limited with many people feeling cut off.

Privatisation has failed – private bus owners like Stagecoach are focused on making millions rather than serving their passengers. This leads to many services being discontinued or at the least – reduced.

But better buses are possible and you can help now!

⚡️Ask the Scottish government to speed up the process of bus franchising which would bring buses under direct control of our councils.

Write to your candidates for the Holyrood election via the tool backed by Get Glasgow Moving: https://betterbuses.bringbackbritishrail.org/strathclyde/

🌻Would you like to do more to improve buses in Fife?
Join the Better Buses for Fife campaign!

Simply fill in the form to hear about the upcoming information and planning meeting and other ways to get involved in the campaign.

Who is behind Better Buses for Fife?

We are a small group of local people, frustrated with Stagecoach service cuts last Autumn and inspired by the trailblazing Better Buses for Strathclyde campaign which has successfully won a commitment from the local transport authority to take their bus network back into public control.

We are starting a campaign for Better Buses for Fife with help from Friends of the Earth Scotland and Fife Communities Climate Action Network and Fife Climate Hub. But we need more different people from all around Fife to get involved so that we can make it a success.

Contact us on [email protected] if you have any questions!

Concerned about bus situation? Wondering what we can do about it? Join Friends of the Earth Scotland and others online tonigh to find out more. Register here: act.foe.scot/demandbetterbuses

Here's more about the event and the issue: Safe, reliable and affordable buses are essential to connect our communities - they are a lifeline, not a luxury 🚌
We also need more buses to cut climate pollution and congestion in our towns and cities.
But Scotland’s bus network is failing passengers - with fares spiralling and more routes and jobs cut every year.
Private bus companies are making millions from this broken system 💰️
Scotland’s buses used to be owned publicly. We can get public control back over our buses so that they meet the needs of our communities.
Join us and - for an online meeting to hear from people taking action for Better Buses across Scotland, and how you can get involved in campaigning in the run-up to May’s election 📣
