☕12 months ago today… what a day!
We celebrated the Den’s grand opening and ribbon cutting with Gideon Amos - MP for Taunton & Wellington and the then Mayor Cllr Martin Straus. It was incredible to be surrounded by so many people who believed in what we were creating.
A year later, things look very different—but our commitment to supporting families remains the same.
We reduced trading over the summer because of our concerns about the premises, before finally closing our doors on 1 September.
Although we had been planning a move for months, we hadn’t expected to stop trading while preparing for it.
Closing the café hasn’t stopped our work—but it has taken away the trading income that helped fund it.
We continue to work day and night supporting families through home visits, groups, advice and advocacy. Meanwhile, storage charges, removal vans and the loss of café income have had a huge impact on our funds.
These unexpected costs are why we’re asking for help as we prepare to open our own space. And despite everything, I cannot wait to welcome you into the Den’s next chapter!
Could your business help give the Den a new home?
We’re offering 12 business supporter squares—one for each month of our first year—at £250 per square.
Your business will receive:
☕ Your logo displayed in our new café and on our website for 12 months from reopening.
☕ An invitation to our private open evening before we open to the public.
Businesses can sponsor more than one square. Your contribution will help cover storage and relocation costs, protecting funds needed for our ongoing family support.
