This year Ramadan and Lent begin together

Different traditions, but the same gentle call: pause, reflect, and return to what matters. One fasts from dawn to sunset, another gives up comforts- both choosing restraint in a world of excess.

It’s a reminder that across faiths, people are reaching for the same things: patience, mercy, gratitude and closeness to God.

Wishing peace and compassion to everyone observing.

Discover how we’ve been working alongside you and local communities to create meaningful change. Our latest Impact Report is available, showcasing the stories, insights, and achievements that define our journey together.

We support Somerset’s communities to thrive by building connection and belonging. Our Together events are one way we make that happen.

This year, we brought 40 nationalities together across Somerset, creating spaces where cultures connect, friendships grow, and communities feel stronger.

From Bridgwater to Yeovil, these events celebrate what makes Somerset special: people coming together to share stories, food, and traditions.

When everyone feels welcome, we all thrive.

Multicultural Frome- yet another amazing celebration of culture, diversity and unity at Cheese and Grain on Sunday. Performances featured Kerala dancing, a Ukrainian choir, Morris dancing and a Palestinian ‘dabke’.

Stallholders shared their cultural heritage from countries including France, Colombia, Tibet, Guyana and Spain through food, workshops and story telling.

Huge thanks to Azeema Cafoor and Lenka Grimes for organising such a unifying event.

Not long now until Multicultural Frome!
