Our spiky garden friends are in trouble, and they need our help! 🦔

The UK hedgehog population is in serious decline—down by up to 75% in rural areas since 2000. Habitat loss is a major factor, but we can turn this around in our own back gardens.

🛠 Quick Ways to Help:
Hedgehog Highways: Cut a 13cm hole in your fence to let them roam.

Go Chemical-Free: Stop using slug pellets and pesticides.

Stay Wild: Leave a pile of logs or leaves for nesting.

Fresh Water: Put out a shallow dish of water (never milk!).

Small changes can make a massive difference for Britain’s favorite mammal. Let’s keep the "hog" in our hedges! 🌿

What to look out for this winter - Starlings
Starlings have black feathers with a purply-green sheen, sprinkled in winter with gleaming white flecks that look like stars in the night sky. The best way to see Starlings is at dawn or dusk flying as a murmuration, starting from November as the birds gather at suitable roosting sites and lasting all the way through to February before the migrant Starlings leave again.
