TENT NEEDED!⛺️⛺️⛺️
One of our warm welcome visitors has been sleeping rough for a few months but has yet to acquire a tent. Whilst these are considered critical in the Winter, we all know that it still rains in the Summer, and can also provide essential shade on Sunny days.

If you have a good useable, waterproof tent (2,3 or 4 man) that you could donate you could make a real difference to someone living in a really challenging situation.

Donations can be dropped in between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, to Compass Wellbeing, found in the top right hand corner of the Belvedere Trading Estate, Taunton, TA1 1BH

I do love doing what I do but every now and then it gets frustrating that I am working so hard for very limited financial reward. The pages I run are monetised by Meta and I make around £150-£200 a month across 3 pages. That’s not a very big hourly wage considering the hours I put in.

I have tried to create a revenue from doing what I do….I suggested to the town council that there should be a role for promoting the town…they agreed but unfortunately I didn’t get “the gig”.

Ultimately I’ll carry on with or without getting money for it…I think it’s obvious that’s not why I’m doing it!! But if you do enjoy reading my posts, have discovered a new business or maybe had your business promoted via the pages I run maybe consider giving the cost of a magazine/newspaper or a slot to advertise via the buy me a coffee link.

This weekend I worked with the BlueTone Festival and I had so many people come up to me and thank me for my positivity and for the pages I run….it is so lovely to have that feedback and I feel so supported….I’ve created a role for myself in Taunton….but it’s one that is taking up more and more of my time and it’s starting to be a little unbalanced.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.
We have run out of, or are very low of essential supplies to support our "warm welcome" visitors, many of whom are rough sleeping, sofa surfing or living in challenging situations.
These basic supplies help make their life's just a little more tolerable.
We have sufficient supplies for ladies but really the need the following for men
🩵 Deodorant
💙 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner
💚 Disposable razors and shaving foam/gel
🩵 Wet wipes and/or face wipes
💙 Toothpaste and toothbrushes
💚 New pants (Size medium)
🩵 New or good quality, clean, ready to wear pre-loved socks
💙 Individually wrapped snacks (crisps, biscuits etc)
💚 Toilet rolls (we wrap each roll individually so a pack can support several people)

We have had 3 great days, but we still have lots of great quality, books and puzzles for all ages, and lovely items available in our "Lots for Tots" clothes area. All this in fact 😉

Doors open for the last day of our sale at 10am tomorrow, 29th May 26. Doors close at 3pm.

👚 Kids clothes (0-7 yrs) for 50p per item

A reminder that Stay and Play, exclusively for the under 5s will run as usual this Friday 29th May 2026.

We also have our Summer "Lots for Tots" clothes rails and crates out, with items at just 50p each, and our "Book, Puzzle and Games Sale" with books at just 50p, or 3 for £1, puzzles at £1 and games individually priced. Plenty of bargains to be had!

A warm but wonderful first day at our Book, Puzzle and Games Sale with £105 raised, which when you consider books are just 50p or 3 for £1, that's a lot of books 📚📚📚

We'll be open all week, 10am till 4pm, closing at 1.30pm on Friday 29th May. There's still loads of choice!
