A difficult decision to make but the safety of customers and staff has to come first. This will be a big hit for our charity as Bridgwater was a successful charity shop with income.

Thank you to the staff and volunteers over the years, every penny goes towards animal welfare in South West Somerset.

RSPCA SW Somerset Branch

🐾😢 It is with great sadness that we announce that our RSPCA South West Somerset Branch shop in Fore Street, Bridgwater will remain closed.

The shop had to close suddenly due to water damage and in view of the remedial work required and our lease coming to an end next month we have made the difficult decision to permanently close.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff, amazing volunteers, and loyal customers who have supported this shop. We are a small local charity in Somerset and all the funds we raise are used to help animals in our area. Your contribution has made a real difference to the lives of thousands of animals.

We are still committed to helping animals in Bridgwater and will continue with our community work and we hope that one day we will again be able to open a shop in some form here.

Your support is indispensable to us and we hope that you will be able to visit one of our shops in Taunton, Chard and Wellington and our online shop on our Vinted profile.

I vaguely remember this on National news.

I certainly didn't know at that time, I was on a path to Somerset, and to working with the good folk at RSPCA West Hatch Wildlife. RSPCA West Hatch Animal Centre RSPCA SW Somerset Branch

The RSPCA helped save thousands of oiled seabirds with 1,300 taken to its centre in Taunton.
