Blackdown Scouts We Are Blackdown. A proud Scouting District and part of Somerset County Scouts.⚜️⚜️ Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Everyone’s welcome here.

Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.

🏅 DofE Gold Success! 🏅

This summer, Blackdown Scouts had three DofE Gold teams complete their expeditions—an incredible 18 young people in total!

Some canoed along the River Wye, while others paddleboarded and cycled through the Purbeck district. 🚣‍♀️🏄‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Over the past week, we’ve had the pleasure of watching all three teams deliver their final presentations and share their experiences.

A fantastic achievement requiring determination, teamwork and resilience. Congratulations to all 18 young people—we are incredibly proud of you! 👏⚜️

A huge thank you must also go to all the adult volunteers and support teams who gave their time to train, encourage and support our young people throughout their expeditions. These opportunities simply wouldn’t be possible without you. 💙
The next DofE/TenTors/Topawards event will be held on November 2nd at Oake Manor Golf Club.
