As part of the District Cub 110th Celebration Camp, it was a pleasure to present three Cub Leaders, very deserving volunteers with Chief Scout’s Commendations in recognition of their service to Scouting.

Congratulations to Jack from Wiveliscombe Cubs who took over Cubs and stopped it from closing, Andrew from Trull Scout Group who also stepped up to be GLV and Scarlett from Wilton Cubs who restarted Blackdown Network and is also a County Youth Lead . Thank you for your dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to providing amazing opportunities for young people.

🎉 District Celebration Cub Camp – 110 Years of Cub Scouts!

A brilliant weekend of adventure, challenge and fun as Cubs from across Blackdown District came together to celebrate 110 years of Cub Scouting.

From inflatables and fire-lighting to games and team challenges, everyone had an amazing time making memories and new friendships.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who made the event possible. Happy 110th Birthday, Cub Scouts! 🎂

What an incredible weekend at our Celebration Camp as Blackdown Cubs marked 110 years of Cubs!

With around 200 Cubs in attendance, we came together to celebrate the friendships, adventures, skills and memories that Cub Scouting has brought to generations of young people.

We finished this fun-filled weekend by gathering everyone together to form a giant "110", creating a fantastic aerial photo to commemorate this special milestone.

A huge thank you to all the Cubs, leaders, volunteers and supporters who helped make the event such a success. Here's to celebrating our rich history and looking forward to many more years of fun, challenge and adventure!

📸 District Cub Camp 2026 is underway and the 110 year birthday celebrations have begun! 🏕️

The flags are raised, the Cubs have arrived, and the adventure has begun!

Over 200 Cubs from across Blackdown District are coming together for a weekend packed with fun, friendship, challenges and unforgettable memories. From outdoor activities and campfires to learning new skills and making new friends, there’s plenty to look forward to.

We hope everyone has an amazing time and enjoys every moment of this year’s District Cub Camp.

Between April 2025 and March 2026, young people doing their DofE through Scouts gave an amazing 193,804 hours of their time to help their communities.

That’s the equivalent of £1,463,131 in social value! 🙌
