🍎 Food waste collections start soon!
Food waste collections will begin across East Lindsey week commencing Monday 19 October.
To help make a smooth start, please begin using your new food waste caddy from your collection day during the week commencing Monday 12 October.
✅ What can go in your food waste caddy?
You can place all food waste in your caddy, including:
Fruit and vegetable peelings
Meat and fish (cooked or raw)
Bread, cakes and pastries
Dairy products
Tea bags and coffee grounds
Leftover meals and plate scrapings
Eggshells
🚛 How will it be collected?
Food waste will be collected every week, on the same day as your other waste and recycling collections.
On your collection day:
Place your outdoor food waste caddy at the kerbside alongside your other bins and containers.
Your food waste will be collected using the same split-body collection vehicle that collects your other household waste and recycling.
♻️ What happens to the food waste?
Once collected, your food waste will be taken for treatment and recycling, where it can be turned into clean energy and nutrient-rich fertiliser, helping reduce waste and support a greener future.
