To enter the draw – let us know how many numbers you'd like and we will randomly pick them for you. The cost is £2 per number.

This is the first of a couple of raffles to raise money for our Community Fund. This fund allows us to wave fees for local charities using Tarbert Community Centre and helps us to put on community events. Thank you to all the local businesses who have donated so far! The full list of prizes and close ups can be seen in the comments.

This raffle will be drawn on Saturday 26th September 🔸️ unless all numbers sell out before then.
A random number generator will be used to determine the winners.

Payment is required to secure your entry. We are unable to offer free postage outside of the UK for our prizes, or postage for the Flower Pot Hamper due to the weight. However, should you wish to participate and are happy to pay postage yourself, should you win, we will of course arrange this!

✨️ FREE! ✨️ - 🌊 Seaweed Workshop Event
T O M O R R O W E V E N I N G

"Come along to a brief introduction to Seaweed and its many uses and its role in the ecosystem. Have fun making alginate worms and learn about your local seaweeds.

Penny is a mature student from Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) studying Food Science. For her Honors Project she developed seaweed workshops around a Seaweed Infographic Sculpture (SIS), with accompanying Discovery Cards (DS). In 2025 the UK Government released a policy supporting the Seaweed Industry, but there is still little educational material specifically seaweed related.

The aim of the Seaweed workshop project was to provide a broad overview of the potential uses of seaweed aimed at Primary students to understand the potential use of seaweed across multiple sectors alongside its importance to the global environment. These include supporting local communities affected by the collapse of the fishing industry, an alternative to plastics, high fiber nutritious food, nutraceuticals, the beauty industry, fertiliser and many more.

Penny has been awarded funding from the Magnus Magnusson Award to tour her workshops to schools on the West Coast of Scotland, including the Islands of Mull, Sky, Harris, Lewis and on the mainland Kinlochbervie and Plockton. Penny chose these locations as Seaweed Farming here is in its infancy. Penny’s aim is to educate and inform these communities, especially young people about the potential for seaweed and finding sustainable solutions for our evolving world and in particular seaweed farming. With a previous career as a Props Maker and Set Designer in the Film and TV industry, the expression of science through art was a natural progression for Penny. The sculpture is a consolidation of these ideas and captures them in a visually stunning piece of art. "

✨️Thank you to all the local businesses who have donated so far to our fundraising raffle! ✨️

If anyone else would like to donate, please feel free to do so by Monday 7th September. The first of our raffles will go live on Wednesday 9th.

✨ ️Can you help us? ✨️ We are looking to run a raffle or two to raise some money for our Community Fund. This fund allows us to support local charities through free hall hires, put on events/winter activities and this year we are looking to run a children's fun day (or 2!) through the winter months.

We understand the pressure put on local businesses throughout the year in regards to fundraising, so feel free to message or email us if you would like to donate a prize. 🎉
