💚 A Huge Thank You From Hannah & Team 💚
Firstly, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited us today and understood why we were unable to accept donations. Your kindness, patience and support mean so much to us.
We know it can be frustrating to make a special trip to the shop with donations only to find that we can't take them. We are genuinely sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Unfortunately, our current donation sorting area is a standard garden shed. With temperatures expected to exceed 30°C this week, it becomes unbearably hot and simply isn't a safe environment for our volunteers and staff to work in. As much as we rely on your generous donations, we cannot ask our team to spend hours sorting clothing in those conditions.
☀️ For this reason, we will continue to pause all donations throughout this week.
🚫 Please do not leave donations outside the shop.
We do have CCTV in operation, and leaving items outside the building is classed as fly-tipping. Items left outside can become damaged, create health and safety issues, and ultimately cost the charity money to dispose of.
💚 We kindly ask everyone to respect our volunteers and staff while we navigate this unusual spell of extreme weather.
🌦️ As soon as temperatures return to normal, we will be back sorting donations and accepting them again. Hopefully, with the cooler weather forecast next week, we'll be able to resume normal service.
🛍️ In the meantime, the shop remains open for browsing and shopping: Monday to Friday, 10am–3pm
Please note that if the heat becomes excessive and we need to close early for the safety of our team, we will update everyone here on our page.
