๐ŸŽˆ Investors in People Balloon Competition Challenge! ๐ŸŽˆ

Following a fantastic event with Charles Hanson and the Investors in People team, a challenge was set to see who could capture the most interesting photo featuring the Investors in People table balloons.

Never ones to shy away from a challenge, Community Together CIC's Lee Lee Stephen Bates and Sue Warmington rose to the occasion! Joining us for our competition entry are the Charles Hanson (of Flog It!, Bargain Hunt and Antiques Roadshow fame), the Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, and Ken Norchi, Worshipful Mayor of Tamworth.

We think this might just be a strong contender for the title! What do you think? ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽˆ

๐ŸŒŸ Celebrating Excellence at Community Together CIC ๐ŸŒŸ

We are proud to be part of the Investors in People family, having successfully achieved accreditation against the Investors in People โ€“ Making Work Better standard, as well as the Investors in People Wellbeing standard.

These prestigious accreditations recognise the high standards we uphold as an organisation and reflect our ongoing commitment to our people, our policies and procedures, and the quality of care and support we provide within our communities.

Recently, our Operational Lead, Sue Warmington, alongside our Supporting People to Brighter Futures Officer, attended a celebration event to mark our successful re-accreditation and recognition for continuing to meet these rigorous standards.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, passion, and hard work of our entire team. We remain committed to creating a positive, supportive workplace and delivering the very best outcomes for the people we support.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to making Community Together CIC a great place to work and a trusted organisation within our community. ๐Ÿ’™

Today is the dayโ€ฆ special presentation and sharing Treasured Memories
With renowned auctioneer Charles Hanson starts 2pm Commowealth in Commonhealth Centre The Old Swimming Baths Tamworth Castle Grounds B79 7ND. See you there.

โœจ Do you have a treasured item that holds special memories of someone you love? โœจ

Community Together CIC invites you to be part of a very special afternoon:

**Compassionate Tamworth โ€“ Stories of Loss, Care and Connection Through Our Personal Treasures**

This event forms part of a special celebration marking **Tamworthโ€™s recognition as a Compassionate Town by Public Health Palliative Care International (PHPCI)** โ€” acknowledging the strength of our community in supporting one another through care, compassion, grief and connection.

As part of this important occasion, **The Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Professor Elizabeth Barnes CBE**, will formally present the award to **The Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Ken Norchi**, and **Tamworth Borough Council Chief Executive, Stephen Gabriel**.

We are also delighted to be joined by renowned antiques expert and TV personality **Charles Hanson**, who will help us explore the stories, memories and emotions connected to the objects we hold dear.

Sometimes a piece of jewellery, an ornament, a book, a photograph, a garden treasure, or another special item can keep the memories of our loved ones alive in our hearts. These personal treasures often carry stories that deserve to be shared.

We are inviting members of the community to come forward and bring an item that has special meaning to them and share the story behind it.

Together we will create an afternoon of conversation, memories, laughter, reflection and connection as we remember the people who continue to live on in our hearts.

A question we may gently explore together is:
๐Ÿ’™ *What helps you most in those moments of grief when they arise?*

๐Ÿ“ธ **Flashback to 3rd June 2016** ๐Ÿ“ธ

Today we are looking back 10 Years to the day to a very special milestone in the history of Community Together CIC.

On 3rd June 2016, it was announced that Community Together CIC had been awarded **The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service** as part of The Queen's Birthday Honours. Today, this prestigious award is known as **The King's Award for Voluntary Service**.

Often described as the *MBE for volunteer groups*, this is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK. We were proud to be amongst the earliest recipients, being only the 4th or 5th organisation to receive this honour in Tamworth since the awards were launched by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2002.

Receiving the award has had a lasting impact on our organisation. It has helped raise awareness of our support services, provided a significant boost in recruiting and retaining volunteers, and enabled us to demonstrate our quality and credibility when applying for funding opportunities.

We would strongly encourage other voluntary and community groups to consider applying.

To be eligible, organisations must:
โœ… Be based in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man
โœ… Have been operating for at least three years
โœ… Be led by volunteers and provide a specific benefit to the local community
โœ… Have a majority of volunteers carrying out the group's work
โœ… Demonstrate a high standard of volunteer management and governance
โœ… Show positive impact and outstanding achievement within their community

Successful groups receive a certificate signed by The King and a crystal award, presented by the **Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire** at a special local ceremony.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, past and present, whose dedication made this recognition possible. Your commitment continues to make a difference every day. โค๏ธ

As Pride Month begins today, we are proud to reaffirm our commitment to inclusion, equality, and respect for everyone in our communities.

As an organisation with a strong record of inclusivity, we are pleased to display the Union Jack Rainbow flags as a visible sign of solidarity.

The Union Jack represents all people across our four nations, and during Pride Month we are proud to highlight that this includes our LGBTQ+ communities.

From our directors, staff, and volunteers, we recognise that the journey towards equality is not limited to a single month. Supporting inclusion, challenging discrimination, and standing alongside those who face barriers is a commitment that continues 365 days a year.

This Pride Month, we celebrate diversity, recognise the progress that has been made, and reaffirm our dedication to supporting everyone who needs us throughout the year.
