That's it, the winners of each category have been picked and we will find out the results on Thursday 1st of October at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park where this year's English Veterans Awards is being held.

The nominations are as follows:
The Staffordshire 3 Veterans Group of the Year
Anthony Frith Leader of the year

Obviously we would like to wish all of the finalists the best of luck, but they are all winners in our eyes.

A massive thank you to all those that nominated us for the awards, also to the judges and sponsors. What an extremely hard job they have to pick the winners 🏆.

We would also like to give a special mention to Sean Molino and Rhîa Molino for all their hard work and dedication in building these awards and making them what they are.

Good evening everyone, we have some news.

The Staffordshire 3 are proud and humbled to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists for the English Veterans Awards for Veterans group of the year. This is a massive achievement for us to be shortlisted 2 years running. We as a group are ecstatic.

Group Chairman Anthony Frith has also been shortlisted as a finalist again this year. But instead of charity fundraiser of the year, he has been nominated as Leader of the year.

It does not stop there though, Anthony has also been nominated for the Your Heroes Awards uniformed hero award for his work with The Staffordshire 3 memorial and with County Royal British Legion.

Anthony said "For The Staffordshire 3 to be nominated for a second time is phenomenal, the hard work and outstanding effort put in by all involved, especially the consistent team is well deserved. They have been there at every opportunity keeping everything going and making sure that I am doing what I should be doing, when, and where. This was my dream to have a place where the families and all those that knew the lads had a place to come, sit, pause, remember, and reflect. But my god did I have the right people behind me."

He went on to say "To whoever has nominated me, I thank you for your trust, and support. I will always strive to be the best person I can be, and hope that that is the example that I pass on."

We will now await and see what the outcome will be. But if we do not win, we are happy to get this far as we have been nominated amongst giants, some of which we are happy to call friend.

Good luck to all the finalists for the English Veterans Awards, and good luck to all nominees of the Your Heroes Awards.

Our old regimental motto has never been so poignant, Ich Dien (I Serve).

On Thursday the 16th July 2026 a few people including some family members of 2 of the lads attended a short service of remembrance for 2Lt Richard Shearer, Pte's Leon Spicer, and Phillip Hewett.

It was a lovely, tasteful service delivered by the reverend Andrew Lythall from St Edithas Church Tamworth.

Also in attendance was the Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire John Mannion. John's words were carefully structured and were just right.

We then retired to The Tamworth Tap at Tamworth Brewing Co to share in conversation and memories of times gone by.

Can we thank all those that attended, we appreciate you all.

Have a great weekend everyone.

21 years ago today The Staffordshire Regiment lost 3 of the finest men that you could ever wish to meet.

16th of July 2005 2Lt Richard Shearer, Pte Leon Spicer, and Pte Phillip Hewett all died when the sn**ch land rover they were in was hit by an IED (improvised explosive device) in Al Amarah, Iraq.

Pte's Steve Baldwin and Pex Uluilakeba were also severely injured in the incident.

This incident changed the lives of many, but tore apart their families waiting back home here in the UK 🇬🇧.

We owe it to the families, and every servicemen, friend and colleague that knew these guys to carry their memory forward. To make sure that they live on, in our stories and our hearts forever.

This evening we shall be holding a short service of remembrance for them at the Oaths Taken, Oaths Fulfilled memorial in Tamworth Castle grounds.
Muster 18:30 - 18:45
Service 19:00 - 19:15 ish
Retire to The Tamworth Tap for 19:30

Hi everyone,

We have just 2 weeks until the 21st anniversary since the attack that took 3 of our sons, brothers, comrades, friends from us.

On the 16th, we will be holding a short service with the help of St Editha's at the Oaths Taken, Oaths Fulfilled memorial where we will be welcoming anyone to attend.

We will muster at 18:30 with a plan to start at 19:00 and be done by 19:30, at which point retire to The Tamworth Tap at Tamworth Brewing Co to talk of our memories of the lads, the tour or whatever comes to mind.

If you would like to get involved, lay a wreath, a cross, say something then please send us a message and we will see what we can do.

An evening walk around the Oaths Taken, Oaths Fulfilled and Watchman memorials on St George's day.

We are all fighting our own dragons, whether that be evil, money problems, stress at work, family or relationship pressure, absolutely anything.
St George is a symbol, an idea that through perseverance we will be victorious, we will all defeat our dragons.

No matter how you feel, you can overcome anything.

Enjoy the pictures everyone.
