Only 5 minutes drive from the A30 (on the road to Fairmile and Escot) and from Whimple and Feniton rail stations. Postcode EX5 2RG.

The hall's modern facilities with access to free wi-fi and full central heating make it an excellent venue for private parties, receptions, meetings, shows and gigs. Talaton Parish Hall is situated 2 minutes walk from the centre of the village with its pub, the Talaton Inn, the Church of St James the Great and Talaton Community Shop. The main room is suitable for 80 seated at tables, 100 seated and 120 standing, and has a licence for music and entertainment. The light, modern kitchen has place settings for 100, range oven, 2 refrigerators, boiling water on tap and 2 sinks plus a hand washing sink. We also have a stage and a multi-media room which can be used for lighting and projections. There is wheelchair access, a toilet for the disabled and a loop system. Booking the Hall

The café is OPEN this morning!

From 10am to 12 noon, Talaton Parish Hall is the place to be. The kettle's on, the coffee's brewing and the cake table is looking seriously tempting.

Grab a slice, catch up with friends, or just come and meet the neighbours. Bring the dog too, they love it here.

No booking and no fuss. Just turn up. We'll save you a seat!

📣This week at Talaton Parish Hall

The café is open this Tuesday (29 September), 10am to 12 noon. Homemade cakes, teas and coffees, and a good natter. No need to book, and dogs are welcome too.

🎬Our Film Season kicks off this Saturday🍿.

Here's what's coming up:

🪣Saturday 3 October, 7.30pm (doors 7pm). A warm-hearted comedy-drama about two older friends setting off on an adventure. 12A.

🌊Thursday 29 October, 3pm (doors 2.30pm). A family animated ocean adventure for half term. PG, with mini ice lollies, sweets and popcorn.

💀Saturday 7 November, 7.30pm (doors 7pm). A powerful Shakespearean-style drama of family, grief and revenge. 15, so no under-15s at this one.

🚂December, date TBC.** A festive family favourite, hopefully over the school holidays. Details to follow.

🏫Saturday 2 January 2027, 7.30pm (doors 7pm). A witty winter comedy-drama set in a school over the holidays. 15, so no under-15s at this one.

Evening screenings have a licensed bar, gelato from The Udder Stuff, and popcorn.

Every screening is free, and donations are always gratefully received. Scan the QR code on the poster to sign up for updates.

We still have stalls available for this year's How d'ye Do! 🎄

📆 Saturday 5 December, from 12 noon, here at Talaton Parish Hall.

If you make, bake, grow or sell something, we'd love to have you. As you can see, it's always a busy one and a lovely way to start Christmas in the village.

Stalls are £15 or 10% of your takings, whichever is greater.

🌎World Su***de Prevention Day

Samaritans' message this year is simple: if you think someone might be suicidal, take action, interrupt their thoughts, and show them you care. You don't need training or the right words. Asking twice how someone really is. Sending a message you're not sure will get a reply. Sitting with someone while they say nothing. All of it counts.

In a village we're well placed for this. We see each other at the shop, at the hall, the pub, over the gate. If someone's gone quiet, notice it. Ask.
