Talaton Parish Hall Only 5 minutes drive from the A30 (on the road to Fairmile and Escot) and from Whimple and Feniton rail stations. Postcode EX5 2RG.

The hall's modern facilities with access to free wi-fi and full central heating make it an excellent venue for private parties, receptions, meetings, shows and gigs. Talaton Parish Hall is situated 2 minutes walk from the centre of the village with its pub, the Talaton Inn, the Church of St James the Great and Talaton Community Shop. The main room is suitable for 80 seated at tables, 100 seated an

d 120 standing, and has a licence for music and entertainment. The light, modern kitchen has place settings for 100, range oven, 2 refrigerators, boiling water on tap and 2 sinks plus a hand washing sink. We also have a stage and a multi-media room which can be used for lighting and projections. There is wheelchair access, a toilet for the disabled and a loop system. Booking the Hall

Grab your seat — our next film night is TONIGHT Saturday 20 June. Doors open at 7pm, film starts at 7.30pm.

We can't tell you what's showing (licence rules, sorry!) but here's a crossword-style clue: remote isle hosts a singer's lament, with two old flames reunited by a windfall nobody wanted (6,2,6,6).

🎬 Last chance to make your ice cream plans...

Saturday is nearly here and we still can't tell you what the film is. 🤫 What we can confirm is that The Udder Stuff will be there — and if you haven't come across them before, you're in for a treat.

They make gelato-style ice cream in small batches using milk from their own cows. The difference matters — because gelato uses more milk and less fat than regular ice cream, the flavour comes through first rather than the richness. It's genuinely lovely stuff.

On the night we'll have five flavours:
🍓 Strawberries and cream
🍫 White choc and raspberry
🍦 Vanilla
🍯 Honeycomb
🫐 Blackcurrant sorbet

Oh, and there's a film too. British. Funny. Brilliant. Certificate 12, just under 100 minutes — well worth a Saturday evening out.

Doors 7pm 🚪 Film 7.30pm 🎬 Popcorn and drinks also available. Donations welcomed on the door.

We've had so many of you asking — so yes, the café is staying open all through July and August! If you fancy getting involved, we'd love a hand with baking, setting up chairs, or making drinks. No experience needed, just turn up with a smile. Drop us a message if you'd like to know more 🌻

*We can't tell you the title. We can't tell you who's in it.

🤫But we can tell you this:
It's a British comedy. It's set on a windswept island. There's music, an unlikely friendship, and two people who really shouldn't have to share a kitchen.

Critics call it "exceedingly British" and "charming throughout, humorous and moving." One reviewer said they miss movies like this — relatively clean, good-hearted comedies that make you laugh and cry.

Certificate 12. Just under 100 minutes. Absolutely worth your Saturday evening.
