A Star-Studded Jam Session at TCT School!

We were beyond excited to welcome Harry Judd - drummer from McFly and proud ambassador for The Children’s Trust - for a very special music session in our School’s Music Hub.

Harry joined us on drums as we played our upcoming original track 'My Identity'. With iPads, accessible instruments and a whole lot of energy, we came together in a collaborative session full of rhythm, creativity and connection!

'My Identity' isn’t just a song - it’s a celebration of who we are. Written and performed by our band, the track is rooted in equality, diversity and belonging. It speaks to the world we want to live in: one where every voice, culture and experience is valued. One line says it all: ā€œWe’re a tapestry of colours, can’t you see? In this symphony of life, you’re meant to be.ā€

This was music at its best - inclusive, joyful, and made together. šŸ’™ Massive thanks to Harry for his talent, generosity and good vibes — you made us feel like true stars!! šŸ˜Ž

šŸŽ§ CedarSuperSound fourth single 'My Identity' also featuring Derek Paravicini will be released in July - watch this space!

What do we mean when we say music is for everyone?

The Sounds of Intent framework is a highly-regarded understanding of musical development. It is based on more than 25 years of research and has been the starting point for all the incredible projects we share here. But today we are going back to the research.

The Sounds of Intent framework organises musical skills into six levels. And here’s the important bit: the skills associated with the highest level (level six, advanced musical skills) can be found in everybody as a listener. Only a small number of talented individuals will have this level of skill as a performer, sure, but we all have them as listeners.

This is why we say that there is no such thing as ā€˜musical people’ and ā€˜non musical people’. We are all musical, but the key things are confidence and opportunity.
