Pyramid Pyramid, formally LGBT Melton & Charnwood. We are a group for people who identify as LGBTQ+. Part of Leicestershire & Rutland Youth and Family Services.

We have youth groups, 18+ social groups, 1:1 support & family support. Pyramid, formally LGBT Melton & Charnwood is a volunteer run project for those who identify as LGBTQ+ and live in the East Midlands. We provide advice, information and guidance on issues such as sexual health, discrimination, education, employment, relationships and mental health. This idea and development of this project origi

nally came about from listening to the young people of Melton Mowbray who identify as LGBTQ+. We have worked with the young people of Melton Mowbray for 4 years. We have supported a number of young people who have issues and concerns around their sexuality, gender, orientation and any related issues including discrimination, bullying, family issues, relationship breakdown, homelessness and mental health issues. It was bought to our attention that there was no support in the local area for the LGBTQ+ community, specifically young people. We expanded our service to support adult members of the community and in 2019 we started to offer our service in other areas such as Syston, Thurmaston, Mountsorrel, Rutland and Loughborough. We now operate across the East Midlands providing services such as 1:1 support, group work and in school/college support. In 2021 we became part of Leicestershire & Rutland Youth and Family Services. We are now a fully volunteer run project with our staff providing their time on a volunteer basis.

Morning all, please remember the emergency ⚠️ alert test is today at 3pm.

If this puts you at risk in anyway or there is a chance this could trigger you or a member of your household, you can go onto your settings in your phone and turn the emergency alert off. Turning your phone sounds off/silent won't stop the alert it needs to be disabled in your phone settings.

On iPhone - Settings > Notifications > Scroll to the bottom and uncheck both Emergency Alert tabs

On Android - Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings > Wireless Emergency Alerts > Toggle Off Allow Alerts and make sure you toggle off Vibration and Speak Alert Message

Fab to see a physical youth group for + young people in Melton Mowbray again.
We haven’t been able to re-establish groups in the area since the end of the lockdowns so this is awesome to see and we fully support this group.
