For those really keen readers, we also offer a £8.00 Mini Reserver 90 day subscription, which is perfect for holidays or short breaks. This subscription is ideal for anyone who reserves more than six items in 90 days or wants to spread the cost of their annual subscription.

Library members can sign up for the subscription at any of the five core libraries; Central, North Swindon, West Swindon, Highworth or Park.

A representative from Live Well Health Swindon will be visiting the library again on Wednesday 1 July from 10am - 12pm to offer support around living well, stopping smoking, access to health and lots more 🧘‍♀️🧘

Did you know Stratton St Margaret Parish Council are holding Public Engagement Sessions at Beechcroft Library on the first Tuesday evening of the month in July, September and November from 6pm-7pm? The next session is on Tuesday 7 July 🗣️

Sessions are also being held at Grange Leisure Centre on the first Thursday of the month in August, October and December from 6pm-7pm. The next session at Grange is Thursday 6 August 🗣️

These are an opportunity to meet your local Council representative to discuss any changes or concerns you may have.

Starting June 28 Stagecoach is making further changes to Swindon's Service 8 to improve reliability 🚌

The route will now terminate at Stratton, dropping its circular operation.

Specifics of the Service 8 change include: Buses will run normally between Swindon Town Centre and The Crown (Lower Stratton), terminating at Stratton rather than looping to Greenbridge.

Greenbridge Connections: For journeys to/from Greenbridge, passengers can transfer to Service 7 at The Crown in Lower Stratton.

We are delighted to announce that, following the success of previous years, the Friends of Beechcroft Library Summer Writing Competition will be running again this year! 🙂

The competition is open to all Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children who live in, or attend a school within, the Stratton St Margaret area.

This year’s competition will run alongside the Summer Reading Challenge, “Read to the Beat”, with music as the suggested theme. However, this is intended only as inspiration, and children are welcome to write about any subject that interests them 🎧 🎼 💚

Prizes include a £10 gift voucher for the winner in each age group, as well as a £25 gift voucher for the overall winner 🥇

Entries should be returned to Beechcroft Library by 30 August 📆

The prizes will be presented by Steve Antony, the award-winning local children's author and illustrator of The Queen’s Hat and the bestselling Mr Panda series, which has sold over 1.4 million copies. Steve is also Patron of Swindon Libraries Children’s Reading Services and he champions literacy nationwide, supporting the National Literacy Trust, School Library Association, and other organisations 👒🐼

Please include the child's name, age, class/school and contact number on each entry.

Did you know Beechcroft Library have a Children's Audio Toniebox?! 🎧🎼

The Toniebox is an enchanting, screen-free digital listening experience designed for little listeners aged 3 and older.

Here’s how it works:

You just place a Tonie (a toy figurine with special technology) on top of the Toniebox, and it instantly starts playing stories, songs, or other audio content 🎼

We have lots of different character figurines in the library, as well as headphones, so you can listen to lots of different stories! 🙂
