Barnabas Aid - International Instilling hope and providing aid to suffering and persecuted Christians.

- To Christians

Barnabas Aid is an international Christian aid agency that supports churches, communities and individuals who are suffering or facing persecution and discrimination because of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. By raising awareness of the urgent needs of the suffering Church around the world, we seek to inspire Christians to pray and to give in support of our brothers and sisters in Christ. We

work in close partnership with local churches and trusted Christian ministries in some of the world’s most challenging contexts. By funding and supporting projects that are developed and led locally, we strengthen their work and help meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of suffering and persecuted believers.

A new launch of Barnabas Aid is nearly here, and we couldn't be more excited!

Our regional office in Malaysia has been working hard to bring our ministry to Christian Chinese speakers in Malaysia and Singapore; we're grateful to the Lord that it is coming to pass.

There's only one week to go until our official launch, with our event held in Malaysia on 7 September. If you're not local, don't worry; our translated Barnabas Aid magazine and Prayer Diary will be available to order and download internationally!

Your child or youth group can play an active part in the work of Barnabas Aid with our Children's Fundraising Pack!

Designed to inform and inspire young people to raise awareness and funds for the suffering Church, it explains how fundraising makes a real difference and offers practical ideas for events and activities.

Helping young people engage in meaningful, creative and impactful ways is a valued part of our ministry because their contributions support Christians facing hardship and persecution around the world.

For this year's International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church on Sunday 1 November, we're ensuring your church is equipped to take part!

Barnabas Aid is providing free resources, so your church can hold an IDOP Sunday service! This includes sermon outlines and notes to help you teach your congregation and promotional materials to help spread the word ahead of IDOP.

We'd love it if, in our church services, we could learn and pray about persecuted Christians who are so often forgotten in their suffering. Engage your congregation with prayer points and slides – and your Sunday schools are included too, with children's and youth resources.

Join in this IDOP and sign up for your pack today: http://brnbs.link/25

When a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Indonesia just days ago, lives were changed forever.

One pastor was deeply saddened that a new church building, opened for worship less than a year ago, was destroyed.

Yet, he declared, “While the church building may have fallen, our faith in God remains standing.”

He added, “We believe that God will lead us through this difficult season and provide a way for restoration.”

At least 100 people lost their lives. More than 1,600 people were injured and around 180,000 forced to leave their homes after thousands of aftershocks.

Prayerfully consider giving towards the restoration of Indonesian lives: http://brnbs.link/24

Our National Director Frank was glad to not just attend but take part in the 130th annual Conference of the Evangelical Alliance of Germany (Allianzkonferenz) in Bad Blankenburg.

He was given the chance to moderate a panel with leaders of three other NGOs discussing the topic: Is justice worldwide under pressure? (Gerechtigkeit weltweit unter Druck?)

Allianzkonferenz took place across 6 days, and around 1,300 people attended; it was a privilege to connect with them. Thank you so much Allianzkonferenz Bad Blankenburg for giving Barnabas Aid a place at your awesome event.

An ethnic-minority pastor from Vietnam’s Central Highlands has been sentenced to seven years and six months’ imprisonment on charges of “undermining the policy of national unity”.

The People’s Court of Dak Lak province sentenced Pastor Y Nuen Ayun, 59, on 5 August. Pastor Nuen belongs to the Ede ethnic group, of which around 30-40% are Christians.

Nuen Ayun’s lawyer, Ha Huy Son, reported that the pastor’s wife and children attended the trial, which lasted just over two hours.

The Word of God instructs us to “be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (Ephesians 6:18). International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) is a key opportunity to fulfil this Biblical command.

Barnabas Aid is marking IDOP 2026 by uniting believers from around the world in prayer for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.

The whole meeting lasts 32 hours. You can join whenever suits your schedule, perhaps when your nearest Barnabas Aid office is leading prayers.

Our full schedule of the countries and groups of Christians that we will be praying for throughout the event is available now.

Christians are treated with hostility and suspicion in many parts of Indonesia, and are often among the most impoverished of people.

Please pray for the success of a Barnabas Aid project to meet the urgent needs of 500 families and another 100 individuals with food packages containing essentials such as fish, rice, noodles, eggs and milk. Pray also for a sustainable chicken-farming project that will, God willing, benefit at least 25 families. Ask that, through these works, the Lord Jesus Christ will be glorified.

Today, 22 August, people around the world commemorate victims of acts of violence based on religion or belief.

This international day was established seven years ago by the UN because of continuing violence and acts of terrorism targeting individuals, including persons belonging to religious minorities, based on or in the name of religion or belief. Christians are no strangers to this experience of suffering.

In Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and elsewhere, followers of Christ have been left bereaved, injured, displaced and traumatised by the hate-filled violence that opposes their faith.
