Barnabas Aid is an international Christian aid agency that supports churches, communities and individuals who are suffering or facing persecution and discrimination because of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. By raising awareness of the urgent needs of the suffering Church around the world, we seek to inspire Christians to pray and to give in support of our brothers and sisters in Christ. We work in close partnership with local churches and trusted Christian ministries in some of the world’s most challenging contexts. By funding and supporting projects that are developed and led locally, we strengthen their work and help meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of suffering and persecuted believers.

Sovereign Lord, we lift to You the struggles of Christians persecuted for following You in Afghanistan.

We pray that You will direct the paths of Your people who are faced with the choice to convert to Islam, leave the country or be executed as apostates. We thank You for congregations that are meeting, even though they must exercise the utmost secrecy.

We ask for humanitarian aid to reach the country as it contends with acute hunger and poverty. Please provide for the Afghan people, especially Your Church, in the precious Name of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many Afghan Christians are converts from Islam. According to sharia law, people who have converted away from Islam should be put to death. The Taliban are strict followers of this law, and particularly target Christian converts, as the Taliban associate Christianity with Western powers.

Through your donations, Barnabas Aid have provided food and other essentials, farming equipment, and vegetable seeds for around 2,100 persecuted Christians in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

“Your assistance has shown our community that God has not abandoned us despite everything we have suffered,” said a survivor of a major Islamic State Central Africa Province attack.

Since December 2024, Islamist terrorists have killed nearly 1,400 Christians and displaced thousands more in north-eastern DRC.

Think of the most terrifying situation you can imagine.

How would that situation make you feel? Terrified? Helpless? Hopeless? Weak?

According to Psalm 46, you need not feel any fear even in the face of death, because God is with you and you can trust Him to protect you.

Fear is the natural human response when faced with pain or death. But as the psalmist reminds us, all that is human, and all that is earthly, pale to insignificance compared to the mighty power of the God who is protecting us. Remembering this brings us comfort amid panic, peace amid chaos.

A pastor in Chin State, Myanmar was shot dead by the country’s military (Tatmadaw) on 14 September at around 4pm.

Reverend Dal Thawn Tuang, 49, was assistant pastor of a church in Lamzang village, where he had served for 22 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Credible sources confirmed that Pastor Tuang was shot three times by the Tatmadaw while returning to Lamzang after ministering in neighbouring Tui Tawh Village.

You've already blessed more than 1,500 Christians in Laos through our sustainable livestock initiative – help us keep going!

There are still so many Christians in rural Laos with no opportunity to escape desperate poverty. On top of this, many believers suffer mistreatment and marginalisation for their faith.

Barnabas Aid’s project partner is looking to supply pigs and chickens to more than 200 impoverished families.

“This campaign will help these families improve their nutrition. At the same time, the project promotes self-sufficiency and resilience” says our partner.
