Hey there, lovelies! In our house, keeping it positive, when we hear the words ‘Blue Monday’ we think of New Order’s epic 12” single. It was one of the first songs I ever choreographed to! With Blue Monday upon us, it's essential to prioritize our well-being and find ways to uplift ourselves and our families. During these challenging times, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed, but taking care of ourselves is incredibly important. Today, I want to share some simple and cost-free activities that can help bring positivity and joy into our lives.

1. Sing Your Heart Out
Whether it's belting out your favorite song in the shower or having a karaoke session with your kids, singing is a fantastic way to lift your spirits. It's a free and joyful activity that can instantly brighten your mood and create a sense of togetherness with your family.

2. Stay Hydrated, Stay Happy
One of the simplest and most crucial steps to feeling good is staying hydrated. Drinking water throughout the day can improve your energy levels, mood, and overall health. It's a cost-free way to take care of yourself and ensure you're feeling your best, both physically and mentally.

3. Find Calm in Tidying Up
There's something therapeutic about decluttering and organizing our living spaces. Take some time to tidy up a corner of your home or get the kids involved in a household cleaning session. You'll be amazed at the sense of accomplishment and peace it can bring, all without spending a dime.

4. Dance Away the Blues
Put on some music and have an impromptu dance party with your family. Moving your body and letting loose to your favorite tunes is a wonderful way to shake off the blues and have a good time. Plus, it's an activity that's guaranteed to spread smiles without costing a thing.

5. Visualize Positivity
Take a moment to visualize positive outcomes and happy moments. By focusing on the good things in your life and setting intentions for positivity, you can shift your mindset and uplift your spirits, despite any challenges you may be facing.

6. Cultivate Gratitude
Gratitude doesn't cost a thing, but its impact is priceless. Take time each day to reflect on the things you're grateful for, whether it's small moments of joy with your family, a warm cup of coffee, or the beauty of nature. Practicing gratitude can bring a sense of warmth and contentment even during tough times.

7. Take a Nature Stroll
Step outside for a nature walk with your family. Breathing in fresh air and taking in the beauty of the outdoors can work wonders for your well-being. It's a cost-free way to clear your mind, de-stress, and find moments of peace and tranquility.

8. Connect with Loved Ones
Reaching out to a loved one for a heartfelt conversation can bring comfort and warmth. A simple phone call or video chat can lift your spirits and remind you of the support and love that surrounds you, even when things feel difficult.

9. Embrace Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a powerful tool for reducing stress and finding calm in the present moment. Take a few minutes each day to practice mindfulness, focusing on your breath and embracing the stillness within. It's a free and accessible practice that can soothe your mind and soul.

10. Embrace Playfulness
Engage in playful activities with your family or simply let yourself be lighthearted and carefree. Whether it's playing a game, engaging in a creative project, or simply goofing around, embracing playfulness can bring joy and laughter into your day, free of charge.

So, parents, as we navigate the challenges of Blue Monday, remember that taking care of yourself is just as important as caring for your family. These free and simple activities are here to help uplift your spirits and promote a sense of well-being, even in the midst of any emotional challenges. Embrace these feel-good practices and discover the positive impact they can have on your family's overall happiness and resilience.

Darling fellow business owners and friends, do come along to this with me. This woman is amazing and all funds raised go to charity and there is an opportunity to network too if you want to talk a little bit of business. Bring your business cards. Don’t be scared. I was like a rabbit in headlights when I first went as I was so out of my comfort zone but I was so well looked after and welcomed and I would look after you. Even if you have never been to networking before, it is a very friendly gentle introduction for you to dip your toe in.

If you don’t want to pay the EventBrite fees, give me a shout and they’ll send you an invoice instead.

Afternoon beautiful souls, my friend Hannah John (nee Geddes) passed away last year, far too early, leaving a beautiful loving family. Please, if you feel inclined, would you consider donating to our 5k walk we are doing next Sunday at Lydiard Park. We are all dancer friends from Swindon Dance and Vicki Plomer has set up the GoFund Me page for us. All proceeds go to Prospect Hospice at Hannah’s request. If you have ever been touched by cancer or benefitted from the wonderful care of Prospect Hospice and you can spare a few pennies, we would all be very, very grateful. With love, thanks and appreciation, Fi ###
