Sway Welfare Aid Group - SWAG SWAG was founded in 1970 to ensure that everyone living in Sway has someone to whom they can turn in an emergency. SWAG is a registered charity. to 11:30 a.m.

SWAG supports people and families of all ages living in Sway and experiencing any kind of hardship. Financial Help

SWAG can provide financial help. To qualify, you must live in Sway. Small Fuel Emergency Grants
In the exceptional circumstances we are currently facing, the trustees have established an small fuel emergency grant option to help those individuals and families within Sway who are in

severe financial difficulty due to the current exceptional household heating fuel costs. Help in an another type of financial emergency

We provide help to individuals and families encountering a financial emergency with grants towards a variety of items. In the past we have helped pay for equipment to aid mobility, funded emergency alarms for the elderly, helped to settle serious arrears of rent or council tax, school trips, nursery places, replacement boilers, car repairs, food bills and a host of other items. Help with Winter Heating Costs

We provide regular help for eligible people with twice-yearly grants towards heating costs in December & March. The maximum total annual grant is currently £680, paid in two instalments of £340. If you need our help either in an emergency or with heating costs, please contact us and one of our trustees will visit you and your family to discuss your requirements in total confidence. Please call our Help Line – 01590 681 500 and select Option 2 to make an appointment or to speak to a trustee about financial support or any other matter. Other important services:
Medical Transport Service, Lunch Club and Community Cafe

We also provide help with transport to medical appointments and SWAG volunteer coordinators run the village Lunch Club which is held every other Wednesday in the Church Rooms, as well as a donations -based Community Cafe, which meets every Tuesday in the Church Rooms, between 10:30 a.m. Telephone the Help Line - 01590 681 500 for further information on any of our services. HIGHLIGHTS OF SWAG AGM 2026

Thanks to everyone who came along to our AGM in the Church Rooms on 24th February.
It was a chance to meet our new SWAG trustees who were unanimously elected.
We heard about the financial transactions of the charity.
Our driver coordinator reported back on over 500 trips covering nearly 10,000 miles over the last year.
Lunch club and the community cafe continue to be much valued and well attended.
Most importantly our chair thanked our many many volunteers including drivers, coordinators, organisers, cooks, tidy-uppers.
SWAG couldn’t exist without you.
If any of you drivers out there would be interested in joining the happy five who are driver coordinators for the team please get in contact via SWAG line option 1.
