Joey Carbstrong has now made public the horrific uncensored footage from his latest kosher slaughterhouse investigation.

Kosher is a Jewish ritual method of slaughtering animals for food, designed to be swift, humane, and in accordance with kashrut (dietary laws). It requires a trained expert.
The animal must be healthy, uninjured, and not stressed before the slaughter.

Performed by a qualified Shochet, often in dedicated slaughterhouses that ensure the meat is handled in compliance with Jewish law.

If you are not vegan and against kosher, you have probably already consumed this meat.

Joey exposes illegal slaughter practises beyond religious exemptions.

As per usual, we heard the old classics: "I love animals, but I like the taste" (though we know Hannibal Lecter liked the taste of his victims, too) and "it’s done humanely", a term people only seem comfortable applying to animals, never to humans. 🤔

​Despite the usual excuses, we had plenty of productive conversations and received great support from fellow vegans in the community.
​It is a massive year for the movement:

​April: Anonymous for the Voiceless celebrates 10 years as a global organisation. 🎂

​October: Our local chapter hits the 10-year milestone of activism on the streets.

They are mothers too.

While the world celebrates today, we remember the mothers whose nurseries are cold stalls and whose lullabies are low, desperate rumbles on cold concrete.

We acknowledge the cycle of forced impregnation and the grief of having their newborns torn away, the babies they are never allowed to nurse, protect, or know.
Their motherhood is treated as a commodity, and their children as a byproduct.
​Today, we choose true compassion for every mother, of every species, whose bond has been broken by industry.

They are mothers, too.
