Helen's Fund

Helen's Fund Sadly, as the family have contributed so much towards Helen's treatment we are now fundraising to he Our crowdfunding page has now been closed.

In August of 2015 the Helen's Fund campaign was started to raise funds to pay for Helen's cancer treatment as she needed a drug not funded by the NHS in Wales. The campaign gathered momentum through its Facebook and Twitter pages and received funding through a series of crowdfunding pages - https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/helen-davies-(1,2,3 and 4). By January of 2016 the situation became

critical for Helen as she had exhausted all options available to her on the NHS and needed to start treatment with the revolutionary drug Kadcyla immediately. Fortunately at that time we had raised just under £25,000, sufficient to pay for 3 cancer treatments - each lasting just 3 weeks! The treatment was started and as each month passed her oncologist documented the improvement in her condition and the reduction in her tumours. The race was now on, to continue to fundraise sufficient amounts of money to keep her on treatment. Her oncologist and our professional advocate, Kate Northcott Spall of the Pamela Northcott Fund, each submitted an appeal for NHS funding to continue treatment. As a result of the documented efficacy of this treatment for Helen, the appeal was successful. Helen will now continue on Kadcyla for as long as it continues to work for her. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported this campaign in every way possible. However the facebook and twitter pages remain open as a way of continuing to provide updates on Helen's progress and to continue to share posts in support of other cancer treatment campaigns and new cancer treatments.
