Prosiect Noddwch pot / Project sponsor a pot UPDATE

Last November I managed to get some free topsoil and got some financial contributions from parents, donors and Cllr Peter May from his Community budget and we were able to fill about 90 pots ready for planting Spring bulbs which the children brought to school and I bought from donations received.

The aim was to bring some Spring colour and life to the drab looking back yard of the school and teach the children to plant bulbs and watch them develop into flowers.

Look at the yard now with the tulips in full bloom, the daffodils still blooming and with the wall deco freshend up. It now looks so cheerful. It was definitely worth the efforts of all involved. Diolch i chi gyd am gyfrannu. Ruth Thomas

The latest GREENING the SCHOOL Project. COLOUR the School Yard!
Please become a sponsor of this project!
NODDWCH bot inni!
SPONSOR a POT for us!
We ware on a mission to colour the yard by next Spring!
THE POTS
About 90 pots (all sourced for free) have now been filled with topsoil, which was made available by Gerti Axtmann of Bernard Street. Thanks so much Gerti! The pots got filled at Gerti's garden by John Thomas and John and Ruth Thomas then transferred some to the school, however, the majority of the pots were transferred & taken into the yard by Blake's dad, Joe Croft. Joe was a great help, he made it possible to get so many pots transferred to the school by the end of the week. Thank you so much Joe! You are a star!
PLANTING BULBS
It is getting colder and the bulbs need to be planted quickly now. The children will do this as soon as the school receives donations of bulbs and also some money donations to buy bulbs and top up compost. The children will be assigned their own pot to plant and look after.
PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS
we are calling on parents and grandparents to please donate spring bulbs or make a money donation.Diolch yn fawr! Some funds have already been received from the Uplands ward Community funds via Councillor Peter May, who is also a governor of the school and some private donations are already in the "Sponsor a Pot" fund too.
HOW TO DONATE
Donations can be made DIRECTLY to the SCHOOL for the "SPONSOR a POT PROJECT". Please give the donated bulbs to your child to hand over to the class teacher or donate some money (in envelope marked "Sponsor a pot project" with your child's name) and hand via your child or yourself to the class teacher, school secretary or headmistress. UPDATE on the pots.

By the end of last week about 90 pots are now filled with good topsoil and are ready for planting. A big thank you to Gerti Axtmann in Bernhard Street who let us take her topsoil to the school and to Joe Croft, dad of Blake, who transferred about 60 pots to the school and helped carrying them into the yard. Diolch yn fawr bawb!
