🤠🤠 Line dancing kind of morning 🤠🤠

What a fantastic start to the week and a Monday morning at Gendros Community Centre.
We had our first trial of doing some line dancing and ladies we smashed it, we laughed, we sung and we moved them hips. It was so lovely to have a go at something some of us have never tried or don’t have time to try.

Luke was amazing he taught us some cracking moves and dances that was easy to follow and remember. We want to say thank you to LS Dance and Luke for taking time out to teach us and thank you for making our first experience the best, Evé and Madeline for helping to.
We will do more soon so keep your eyes out for more.

We are planning on reaching out into all areas with our coffee meet ups and supporting and using different venues that we enjoy using for our events.

Our first dates are in Suba - Swansea where they sell the most beautiful food and drinks.
This family run business in the heart of Swansea and a venue we have been using lately for our clickers and fidget making but it’s also a calm relaxing place for our parent carers to come along and enjoy it to.

What a fantastic morning we had at Founders & Co. Swansea with Dan and Grace. It was so lovely to see the teens design their own flexi fidgets on the iPad and laptop, from picking the animal to adding different features and accessories with hats and wings and many more, all the unique designs were saved and this week Dan will 3D print them ready for next week were they will paint them in their unique design. We can’t wait to share all the creations.

On Friday we got invited along to the launch of the new Swan tv new studio at the brand new Elysium art gallery, it was lovely to see Lee again and meet Mike the ones behind all the great things that Swan TV are doing at the moment from supporting the community in all areas to the new exciting project they have lined up.

Take time to talk

Yesterday morning we had our monthly coffee morning and what a lovely turn out it was, it was so lovely to see so many come and take time for themselves.
There was lots of chatting, laughing and the coffee was flowing, people catching up and meeting new members. We had a lovely spread for our parent/carers to enjoy from Have Your Fill Café a lovely range of sandwiches to cakes and some yummy fruit. Also some yummy biscuits made by our talented member Maria with our NAS logo 😍

Sometimes that’s all you need is someone to listen to, to take your mind of things for a bit or share what’s troubling you as you may speak to someone who is going through it like you and your not alone

What a lovely evening spent in this little Gem 💎 we are so lucky to have this place on our doorstep and the evenings are so calm, relaxing going around seeing all the animals, and explore the new areas that they have and all the amazing creatures. Thank you again to all the staff in Plantasia Tropical Zoo who are always brilliant and welcoming.

📢Calling all Parent Carers📢

If you're a parent or family carer, Swansea Carers Centre on Wednesday 10th June at the Village Hotel Club for our Parent Carer Information Fayre. There will be:

🌟 A number of talks throughout the day, including Managing Distressed Behaviours and Brain Food

🌟 Information and advice from Swansea Carers Centre services, local organisations and support groups

🌟 Information and advice from the local health board

🌟 Lunch, refreshments and free parking

The event is running 9:30am - 3pm, with talks scheduled throughout the day. Please join us for as long or little as you like.

Carers week 8th -14th June 2026

Today we recognise the carers who don’t recognise they are young carers, the siblings of children with ALN, the ones that live it day in day out, that know their siblings inside out, that are their safety blankets.
They do things that don’t realise they are doing for them, the help they give the families and the things that can sometimes be different to friends.

They are the strongest people we know and we love them for it.
