Hands Up For Down's We are a local, volunteer run charity for children with Down's syndrome and their families in the Swansea bay area.

Tee up for a brilliant day out — and an even better cause!

We’re thrilled to announce the Charity Golf Day is back for its third year, taking place at on Friday 18th September 2026.

Last year this incredible event raised an amazing £14,000 for Hands Up For Down’s 💙 And this year, we’re aiming even higher.

Every pound raised helps us continue funding life-changing speech and language therapy for children with Down’s syndrome across Swansea Bay — support that simply wouldn’t exist without fundraising like this.

What’s in store?
• A fantastic day of golf on a beautiful course
• Competitions, prizes and plenty of bragging rights
• Longest drive, nearest the pin… and even nearest the crate
• Great company, lots of laughs — all for an incredible cause

Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or more “swing and pray,” we’d love you to join us.

This is Joseph Romano. A wonderful man and a big personality in Pontarddulais - especially in the Pontarddulais Con Club.

We were lucky enough to meet Joseph’s brother Robert on the weekend along with the fantastic charity quiz team they have at the Con Club. Every week they meet for the Sunday Quiz and raise money for local charities. This time they chose us, Hands up For Down’s, in memory of Joseph.

Joseph sadly passed away a few years ago, but his memory lives on in the community.

Hands up for an amazing day with Hands Up for Downs 💙💛
We walked from Blackpill to Verdi’s along the beautiful Swansea Bay promenade to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day – sunshine on our faces, smiles all around, and so much kindness from everyone we met along the way. The support and generosity from passersby truly made the day extra special 🙌

Huge thank you to for supporting World Down Syndrome Day, to for welcoming us with well-earned ice cream 🍦and to the Swansea Bay Land Train for getting us back to Blackpill when little legs were ready for a rest 🚂

A day full of community, joy, and togetherness 💛💙

To mark World Down’s Syndrome Day our members were invited by to be the official flag bearers for the Swansea v Coventry match. What an honour! Our young people LOVED it and really did us proud (they even got a photo with Cyril 😎)!

Louise, one of our incredible Hands Up For Down’s mums, is taking on the London Marathon this April 🏃‍♀️💙

She’s training hard every single day to do her son Archie proud and to raise vital funds for our charity at a time when speech and language therapy provision is facing a real funding crisis. Every penny Louise raises will go straight back into supporting this essential service for our members.

As we come to the end of the year, we want to say a huge thank you to our incredible members and their wonderful families. Your strength, joy and sense of community are at the very heart of everything we do 💛
