🎉 Storyopolis Returns 12th September 2026.

Storyopolis is a creative literacy programme aimed to help children explore their imagination through storytelling and reading, as well as coming together with others to make new friends.

Saturday mornings term-time, from 10:30am-12:30am.

🧑‍🏫 Join us for creative activities with our team of artists and educators.

📚 This term we will be looking at new ways to create stories through theatre:

• Costume.
• Set design.
• Script writing.
• Character development.
• Theatre games.
• Scene work.

🎭 This will all lead to a final performance in December!

🎟️ As ever, this is funded by the national lottery, so there is no fee for attending the sessions.

With rehearsals starting next week if you have been thinking of joining the project now is the time!

Any age, background or experience to be Part of the A participatory performance inspired by Luke Jerram’s - Gaia
You are invited to take part in a collective performance inspired by Gaia. We are inviting people of all ages, all backgrounds and experiences to be part of this unique performance piece.
What will happen?

Participants will be guided through a series of simple actions, movements and writing tasks; exploring our relationship with the planet and each other. The process will be fun and collaborative although we will be rehearsing in order to perform.

Who can take part?
We are looking for participants who are curious, open to collaboration and interested in contemporary art and performance. Whether you are creative, reflective, energetic or simply interested in trying something new, your presence will help shape the performance.

Your presence becomes part of the artwork.

The performance will take place in the heart of Swansea -St May’s square, in the Minster on the 22nd of October.
Rehearsals will start beginning of September every Tuesday night.

☀️ Storyopolis Summer Workshop 🎨

Looking for one last thing to do on inset day? Join us for our last workshop extravaganza as we bring our summer programme to a close! While we say goodbye to our Friday afternoon sessions we have Storyopolis starting back up on Saturdays - Storyopolis is a children’s creative literacy project with a difference. Come along and see what kind of activities we get up to with our workshop introduction.

Create your own clay characters and creatures with Chelsea Morgan and Storyopolis’s own Ali Nehan. A fun and imaginative session for children aged 8+.

The Summer workshops have been very popular, so early booking is recommended!

✨🎥🍿 Psychogeography Film Night 🍿🎥✨

The 5th World Congress of Psychogeography (5WCoP), the largest annual Congress exploring the perceptions and emotion of place, is coming Swansea to Volcano Theatre on Friday, September 18th to bring you a selection of psychogeographical films for their film night. This year's theme for the Congress is Uncharted Territory.

Join us for programme of short films, sonic lectures, and documentaries exploring the emotional landscapes of place and the ways in which wandering through landscapes,streets, and forgotten spaces can transform the way we feel, think, and relate to the world around us. To finish off the film night, Nightingale & Sage will host an evening of Psychogeography Karaoke in the bar of Volcano Theatre. Films start at 6:30pm with intermissions.

The bar will be open the whole night!You do not need to come to our Saturday Congress held at Urban HQ to come to the film night - anyone is welcome! Find out more here: https://5wcop.org/

Drop in anytime between 11 AM and 2 PM on Friday.

For any age accompanied by an adult. There will be access to materials for self-led crafts such as clay, play-doh, lego, pastels, charcoal, paper, collage materials, and access to our children's library with books and puzzles. Also free WiFi.
