The 12 days of a Safer Swansea Christmas.
Christmas is a time of happiness and celebration. Don’t let criminals spoil it!!!
This year Swansea Council’s Community Safety team have designed a festive crime prevention guide to highlight how to avoid becoming a victim of crime over the festive period.
Themes highlighted include home security, responsible drinking, fraud and many more.
Alyson Anthony (Cabinet Member for Well-being) said “Christmas is a time for celebration, enjoyment and happiness for all our communities throughout Swansea. However, criminals don’t care if they ruin your Christmas. This leaflet contains plenty of simple effective crime prevention advice for you to enjoy a crime free holiday period”
Paul Evans (Community Safety Coordinator) said “We hope that all Swansea residents enjoy the Christmas period. Often security is not thought about whilst we enjoy ourselves. By following these simple steps you will help ensure a crime free period is had by all”.
The leaflets also contains useful contact information for many of the Safer Swansea partner agencies. The leaflets will be available from the Quadrant engagement stand as well as local libraries.

We are supporting with a message… E L I M I N A T E H A T E !

A hate crime is a criminal offence that is motivated by hostility and prejudice towards somebody because of their:

➡️ Sexual orientation
➡️ Disability
➡️ Race
➡️ Religion or belief
➡️ Transgender identity

Everyone has a right to live their life without the fear of being abused for who they are, and we will always seek to protect that right.

Next Fri (17th Oct) sees the first Sketty Men's Shed session taking place. The session is open to all men in the Sketty and surrounding area.
Men's Sheds are community spaces for men to connect, converse and create. No two sheds are the same, they are as individual and diverse as the original back garden shed. A place were men can escape from everyday stresses of life, to escape to and pursue their interests. But crucially it’s a place where loneliness and isolation are addressed in a friendly environment and where men can chat and enjoy each others company. Everyone is welcome.

Today marks the start of Safer Communities Awareness Week. This year we’re shining a spotlight on community cohesion.
Cohesive communities reduce isolation, prevent conflict, and create spaces where people feel safer, more included, and more empowered to shape the places they live.
