We offer accessible youth clubs, wellbeing sessions, , a film club, a tabletop roleplaying group, trips, and other activities. Mixtup is a youth club for 11-25 year olds with mixed abilities, that meets every 2nd Saturday (younger age group) and every 4th Saturday of the month (older age group) at EYST, 11 St Helen's Road, Swansea, SA1 4AB. Yesterday we had an afternoon of visits...first off to the new Elysium Gallery to meet up with our friends at ASDES Autistic Spectrum Employment Support CICto find out more about what they are up to these days, and chill in the lovelyquiet room! Whilst we were there we popped upstairs to visit Mixtup member Ryan in his lovely new art studio - it is looking wonderful.

After that we skipped down the street to skatepark, checking out their fab overhead harness system that will make skating more accessible for everyone...we can't wait for our session there in November!

As a note - the new Elysium gallery is lovely, and very accessible - there's a chill cafe, an creative space with height changing tables AND a Changing Places toilet ( including hoist, shower etc) .

Week 4 of our course with Down to Earth Project.
Six drops of rain, but mostly fine again, just chilly enough for the wood burner to meet us in the morning. The day flew by - measuring more than twice before cutting, using the buzz saw to prepare the wood for a timber frame whilst on another part of the site there was more digging and levelling, drilling, and sawing dowl to build a bench next to the fire pit. Then time (after lunch) for some workbooks, sanding mallets and walking sticks and starting on some pyrography. Once again we had an all round lovely, busy time.

Week 3 at Down to Earth Project - beetle mallets, trench shovels, draw knife, trestles, post hole diggers, cleft fencing, tamping, Tofu the hard to ignore cat, the (poly) nope - tunnel 🐝, 🐝, harvesting Szechuan peppers , sunshine, valuing mistakes, learning, laughing and having an all round lovely time together.

Some pics of Saturdays older youth club. Lots of chatting, singing, dancing, playing, painting, drawing and enjoying each others company 🥰 We had a few birthdays to celebrate 🎂🥳. Oh! And a halloween lobster on the loose, because it is Mixtup after all, and random things happen! 🤣🦞 🎃👻💃🕺🎂☕️

Our fab Mixtup members taking on week two of the Down to Earth Project

Filled with Mallet crafting, Kelly kettles, Mint tea, Campfires and tool use. Also a celebrity guest appearance from a very friendly local cat who has been dubbed "Gary".

What a lovely start we had to our 6 week course with Down to Earth Project....we learned loads; anyone wants some kindling chopping , branches sawn and peeled, fires started then we are your people! We can also tell you to maybe not eat raw Szechuan peppers. 😎There was so much more in such a beautiful environment ,hanging out , exploring, smelling the wood, just having a beautiful time together! Big thanks to our fabulous tutors Carys and Becca, we can't wait for next week. 🌳🪵🔥🌼🌞🌍🐷🐝🍅🍪🧤🪓

In saturdays older youth club we said fairwell to Sydney as she ages out of Mixtup after many, many years. There were pigeons everywhere! We has some surprise guests and heartfelt speeches, and decorated and ate a lot of cakes! We'll miss you Syd but are looking forward to seeing you at our Mixtup Alumni group 🐦🕊🎂🌟🕺💃
