This Refugee Week, we’re promoting exciting events across our city.

We are a grassroots movement of local residents working together to ensure everyone in our city is welcome. We believe in building a community where all are treated with dignity and respect.

The events during Swansea Refugee Week are all about celebrating these shared values of kindness, community, and support for everyone who calls Swansea home.

Refugee Week is here! 🌟

Alongside our packed events programme, Swansea Refugee Week will also have four free exhibitions running all week long.

📚 Writings Exhibition
Reflections from our Shop of Sanctuary volunteers on books, belonging, and the power of reading.

🎨 SASS Art Exhibition
Artwork on the theme of Courage, created by members of the Swansea Asylum Seekers Support community.

💚 Swansea City of Sanctuary Exhibition
The history of Swansea as a City of Sanctuary, told through real stories from people with lived experience of seeking sanctuary.

A collaborative exhibition with people who have been charged for their NHS care and health workers in the Patients Not Passports campaign.

Cove Dyn Ni / We Are Memory: A Cartography of Becoming is an anthology of creative writing edited by Eric Ngalle Charles, featuring voices from the Dylan Thomas Centre's sanctuary workshops, the Young Writers Squad, and young people from Ysgol Bryn Tawe.

Join us for readings from contributors at the Dylan Thomas Centre - and pick up your copy. Published by Hafan Books, with all proceeds going to Swansea Asylum Seekers Support.

Celebrate Refugee Week at Swansea Market! 🌟

Join on Saturday 20th June 2026, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Market Garden in Swansea Market, for a vibrant community event celebrating culture, diversity and togetherness.

Enjoy a variety of activities, including salsa dancing, cooking demonstrations, music and singing, children’s art, and plenty of fun for all ages.

Come along, meet new people, and be part of a warm and inclusive celebration!
