Hi All

The committee have decided to arrange a working party on Saturday 31 January to reduce the height of a number of trees on the NBG site.

The trees are reducing the light getting through to some allotments and there are several fruit trees that have become too tall to safely harvest fruit. This time of year, is perfect to do this as the trees are not actively growing, have no leaves to deal with and no birds will be nesting at this time of year.

The committee are asking for volunteers, especially those persons with allotments suffering from lack of light or who need fruit tree height safely reduced to attend.

The committee would also like allotment holders with chainsaws to attend. Any allotment members from KR and CL are welcome to help, come for a chat, or to see what’s going on at NGB.

The day will start at 1030, meeting in the car park and finish around 1500. The plan is for refreshments, Tea/coffee/water and bacon rolls to be provided, but please bring your own mug. If we don’t get everything done the plan is to come back on Sunday morning, 1 February

The committee will need to know numbers, so would you please let the secretary know by email if you are planning to come on 31 January and if you have specific dietary needs which make a bacon roll inappropriate.

Thank You
