Home-Start Norfolk Home-Start Norfolk volunteers provide nurturing support to parents & help children to thrive.

Home-Start Norfolk is a voluntary charity recruiting peer support volunteers in Norfolk to support families with children under 5 in their own homes. By providing emotional, practical and nurturing support to parents when their babies and children are in the critical early years, we are helping parents to provide loving, safe and secure homes in order for their children to thrive.

Building healthy smiles together 🦷

We love welcoming other organisations into our Peep groups to connect with families in the community. These sessions are a chance for families to come together, share experiences, and access support and information that can help make raising little ones feel a little easier

One of our regular visitors is the Oral Health Team in Norfolk, helping families learn simple ways to care for young children’s teeth and build healthy habits early.

With almost 1 in 4 children in Norfolk and Waveney experiencing tooth decay by the age of five, working together in our communities has never been more important!

What does being an extra pair of hands mean?

It means our volunteers might:
👉 Sit and listen while a parent talks
👉 Help with ideas to keep children entertained
👉 Support with routines and confidence-building
👉 Accompany a parent to a group or appointment
👉 Offer reassurance and encouragement

You don’t need to be an expert, just kind, patient and reliable

Creating safe spaces, building confidence, and supporting not just families, but volunteers too 💜

Our wonderful volunteer Rita is continuing to grow her knowledge by learning baby massage, helping Home-Start Norfolk support even more families across our community. Along the way, she’s also building her own confidence and developing new skills.
