Swaffham is set to shine in February 2027 as local people come together to create and take part in a dazzling community light festival celebrating the town's heritage and completion of the Swaffham - A Historic Market Town programme.

To participate in the project, please come and join artists SDNA for a relaxed, hands-on drop-in workshop at the Assembly Rooms on Saturday 12 September, from 10.30am to 1.30pm. Participants will collage, draw and paint directly onto images of Swaffham's building façades, imagining how familiar places could be transformed through light, colour, pattern and projection. We will also collect local stories, memories and personal reflections, which may become part of the final soundscape and projected artworks for the festival.

Tourist in your Town

Here’s a photo of Adrian Leak leading a party round our town earlier this month

And a comment from a participant in another tour:

‘Many, many thanks for the wonderful walking tour yesterday. It really was a fabulous tour and our guide was really knowledgeable, great fun and he really put our safety and comfort first given the extreme heat of the day. We have lived in Swaffham for 15 years and I was amazed at what we had 'missed' during this time. Thank you so much!’
