A Message from The Collective Hub
About 4 years ago, I went through a major mental health breakdown. Living with BPD has been, and still is a huge part of my journey. It’s something that never truly goes away, but I’ve learned that with the right techniques, mindset, and support, we can ALL get through even the darkest moments. Nothing is too big or too small we can overcome anything, we are all stronger than what we think!!
Since this, i worked hard to turn my struggles into something positive. I gained my Level 4 in counselling, along with qualifications in behavioural psychology, inclusion & diversity, and CPDs in areas like confidence building, anger management, ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression. Using these skills, I set up The Collective Hub with the drean of it becoming a safe and inclusive space for everyone.
Your support, from teens, parents, families, and the wider community has meant the world. Hearing how much The Collective has helped people makes all the struggles worth it.
Over the past few months, I know many of you have noticed I haven’t been myself. I’ve been struggling more with my BPD, and while some days are better than others, it hasn’t been easy. Even with all the tools and knowledge, there are still tough battles. I’m sharing this not for sympathy, but to show that it is possible to survive and come back stronger. This project has saved me before, and I know it will again, like with anyone struggling you can ALL get through tough times, I promise!
For me i think its important to rebuild and rebrand our offer I want to go back to more of the original plan, with mental wellbeing and inclusion at the very heart of everything we do, especially for young people and families, to ensure we all get continued support, guidance, signposting and Distractions.
📌 Over the next few weeks, The Collective Hub will run on a reduced timetable. This is so I can focus on myself and get some self love back, and start planning on new plans / changes any ideas are welcome
📌 Youth provisions and Saturday family days will continue as normal, for other openinng days please see social media for updates
📌 We’ll be looking to recruit new directors to help lead projects, and help me with on going things, also new volunteers who are passionate about supporting community wellbeing.
📌 With funding harder to secure and bills rising, any support or donations are deeply appreciated during this time.
📌 Collective Cafe will still be open Wednesday to saturday.
Thank you to everyone who has stood by me and supported this project so far, even when I haven’t been at my best!! I promise I’ll be back stronger, renewed, and back to being positive about everything. I'll be ready to continue building a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and safe.
With love & gratitude,
💜 Mikey
